    Hi Ladies.

I am so sorry I didn't message on Saturday but it was a crazy weekend and I'm sitting in Bali at 1.47am now after checking up. To be honest it was just great!! I really have to thank Carol & Laura ( Laura was spectacular with my step daughter and nephew on the day). I broke an acrylic which I arrived and carol did all her power to get someone for me. Two days before I spoke to carol and I mentioned I would leave the hotel, which shocked her as she was prepared for me to spend my final night there. When I got there that morning I was greeted by them both then with offerings of coffee ect. The food was great, everyone commented on how the venue had changed since the last wedding we attended and the staff were truly amazing. Katie who dealt with the ops on the day- food out, band, DJ ect was great, due to me chatting she always came to remind me about my dinner ect (which we both agreed was great). I really recommend you contact them and ask to speak to them if you have a wedding in coming Months. I can feel all your stress and I was in that boat but once we met and sorted out the kinks it was perfect. But you do need to see them in my opinion, we are all human and I feel that email tones are not sufficient in stituation s like this.
I spoke to staff as I was wandering about the hotel at 6.30 (couldn't sleep and didn't drink) and I asked them how they find the property since the change and as I work in this area I could not believe the level of respect and happiness they have for the new team.

Hope it helps some of you coming close to the day!!

My heart goes out to you all here.
We had our wedding on December 28th 2016 and the new owners had just taken over.
One of the staff had suggested when we initally booked that we could get the choice on the main course as a substitute for the honeymoon accomodation which we were not interested in. 6 days beofre the wedding i was informed that the new owners would not honour this.
To be honest it gave me a bad feeling in my gut and i was nervous of what else might go wrong.
Thankfully Lesley Jess and Caitriona looked after us so well on the day .
It is sad to hear of how everything is so much better now as i would want it to be the way i booked it not necessarly a new improved version.

As far as i remember we accessed the gardens via the walkway through the courtyard so that would be an issue if that area is out of use.

Lesley was amazing and it appears she is no longer there form the commments . What a loss

As far as i am aware all money has to be refunded as the property was sold since you booked but i stand to be corrected on that

We booked last September and dealt with Caitriona who was really nice, we actually never met Lesley so I guess we never will now.

Lasair thanks a mill for your post, sounds like a lovely day. Delighted for you :P

6 weeks time. Cannot believe the callousness of this. Exploiting people's wedding day. I'm just so sad about this. Was so enamoured when we first booked and now have such a bad taste in my mouth.

I wouldn't have thought so if you'd signed a contract agreeing prices. you might want to get in touch with the National Consumer Agency and see can they advise you, and get in touch with the hotel and query it.

It is outrageous. They have been quite dismissive towards a whole lot of people, trying to focus on the positives as outlined in this thread but it is hard not to be stressed out by this. They do not seem to get how important our wedding day is to us!

There is a line in the contract stating that they can increase prices. It worried me when I was reading my contract prior to meeting the new managers, but they lied to my face and said that all prices will be unchanged.

I'd still get on to the NCA just in case. You never know, there might be something you can do, 15% is a huge whack.

I looked into it beiefly when they looked for more money from us 6 days before our wedding and apparently if the property is sold contract does not have to be honoured on either end

Everyone who has booked this venue please beware....

A few weeks to our big day to receive a 2 liner email to say that the price has increased by 15%!!!!

The management team are extremely rude and do not care in the slightest about their clients.

    STAY CLEAR!!!!

We met with them a week ago and they said nothing. Then we got an email saying price going up. Just disgusting really.

    Hey.
No. The girls had offered the choice on the main course at no additional cost as we did not want to avail of the Portugal accomodation that was offered as part of our package.

We were married on the 28th of december and on the 22nd we were told the new owners woukd not honour this.
I think this was the beginning as they had only taken over a few weeks prior.
It was very small in comparison to what people are talking about niw but it still gave you the same feeling that they are just trying to get the most money out of you.
We paid it much to my husbands distaste as at that stage we had not much choice.
It madr me worry as to what else might have changed but we had an amazing day.

Spent 1.5 years planning and now We are 11 weeks away from our day and they have put an unbelievable sourness on the whole thing. They are not honoring most of the agreement that we had previously made, have reduced our package but are still looking for us to fork out an extra near 2k. Total joke. Do they think people just have an extra 2k lying around. They are completely non approachable to speak to. Basically laughed at us about our previous agreements. I'm disgusted with the whole thing. Also told us that we are not allowed have our evening photo booth which has already has deposits paid. Instead of being excited, all I want to do is cry!

Yes their attitude stinks. Its unfortunate that they do not appreciate how important out weddings are to us and our families! Sorry to hear how upset they've made you. They have offered us a refund and we are taking it.

It's in the summer. Don't know what we are going to do but I don't trust them, they lied and said the prices wouldn't change. When I asked if it was true I was told that yes it is true and asked do I want our deposits back. They've gone back on lots of agreements made with Lesley, it's as if they don't want our weddings.

So disappointing, but I would have been stressed out and dreading our wedding if it had of been there. I think we will end up with a completely different kind of wedding day than originally imagined, but we do not have an extra 15%

Our booking was only ever with Leixlip Manor. I was told that this increase apllies to every wedding after March. Send them an email asking where you stand.

It is just so unfair. I have barely slept the past two nights. Couples are at their mercy and they do not care.

I'm feeling so sorry for all of you B&G's who have already booked :(

It's disgraceful that the new owners can treat customers like this, weddings are stressful enough already :(

I feel sick about the whole thing and the only reason I am finding things out is from other brides that are getting married there. I was emailing regarding sweet carts, photo booths and now been invited to meet them and see the renovations that they have carried out and go through my wedding so I will probably get the news then of 15% increase ( will seriously need to consider what I will do - it's going to be so hard to get a venue for my date if it comes to that )😬

How is it legal to force a 15% increase? Does your original contract not hold?
