@ Lightning - that looks really fresh, credit to you. The black trim contrast shows up really well. White on an older can look tatty (imho), but that's excellent :cool:

Nice one. I use to have one looking very same with the same wheels. It was the Le Mans edition. The only problem with these cars is that my dog doesn't really like travelling in them. Neither the back seats or the hatch floor are suitable...

Did you get your wing mirror back on?

I actually prefer 924s without the trim. The early, trimless cars have that cleaner 70s look. I spent hours removing the trim from one side of mine and haven't got around to the other side yet!

I quite fancy your turbo wheels though for a change.:)

The MX-5 is an 1980's design and first went into production in 1989 (in the US)

They are also listed as classics by all the UK classic car publications just like the Golf GTI Mk2, BMW E30, Peugeot 205 GTI etc.

The rear lights are custom, the individual light fittings are Lucas L691/692's more commonly found on Imps (and the DB5

) which I've set on stainless backing panels and recessed the units into the rear panel.

Incidentially, does anybody here have a classic commercial vehicle insured on a classic policy?

I believe a few people on the forum mentioned that it was difficult to get insurance for a classic commercial.

Brought my '71 Zephyr for a trip to the Isle of Man. Just back now. It's hilly country compared with Kildare so V6 power would have been better than my V4. Lovely island to drive a classic in though and the ferry from Dublin is only 3hrs

I went out with a girl many moons ago who's dad had a posh one of those as his company car. We knew that when we heard that yoke on the gravel driveway, we had less than 30 seconds to get dressed and look innocent!!

Did you get a chance to visit the new (since 2015) IoM motor museum?
From magazine articles I've read, it looks impressive.

Yeas that new museum is a fantastic place, I spent 4 hrs there looking around last year, would have stayed longer only it was getting too far past lunchtime! For a museum to hold my interest for that long it had to be good!

Lots of very interesting exhibits there and well laid out too. Worth a flight over for that alone, and there is a Transport Museum (with buses and trucks and stuff) just a 5 min walk down the estate from there, although its not open every day
