What is your opinion about them? I absolutely detest flip flops and the sound they make *flop* *flop* *flop*. You would think that in such a cold country like Ireland where +20 is considered blistering heat you wouldn't see many of them but no.

They're also wildly uncomfortable...Having that bit between your big toe is the absolute worst.

As a pregnant woman: Love them, at least I can get my swollen feet in.

    They're there for aerodynamical purposes.

I never have and I never will have a pair of flip flops. They call the 'thongs' in Australia.

Reef Mick Fanning flip flops, air cushioned summery comfort for your foots. And they have a bottle opener built into the sole.

They are only fit for wear in the shower rooms.
Awful things altogether as you can only walk slowly in them.

Are you sure you're not talking about Flop flops?

What do you call a French bloke wearing sandals?

"Young friends, my opponent, Joe Quimby is confused about your school system. Do you know what he does? He flip flops!"

Only only only for the Swimming pool. That's because I own a manky pair of luminous blue flip flops and they are great for saving your feet from veruccas with all those wet FEET around the pool.

Otherwise they are just awful things. Awful I said.

There are other alternatives outside the swimming pool, and probably in the swimming area aswell, but I am lazy, and the luminous blue flip flops will do for now, but for nothing else!

Hideous things. They're very bad for your feet too.

I see their merit for swimming pools and communal showers. I own a pair myself only for these purposes! But there are yokes I work with who wear them to the OFFICE. And that's rank.

I wear flip flops at the swimming pool and the odd time during the Summer.I'd prefer them over sandals!

But what about "Fit Flops" and all that?

No way would I wear anything like that outside of the beach or the pool.

But they are cool are they not, help your posture and your walking or something. I'm afraid I won't be testing it out.

You've obviously never worn a pair of Chipko flip flops

I wear them all year round. I love them.

Not flip flops as you cannot wear socks with them and I need socks the year round but yes to imitation crocs which I wear all the year round.

    I think they are skanky.

Since I work in an office and during the summer months a lot of the women wear them, I detest them. That flip flopping sound around the office wrecks my head.

Rugby jocks used to love wearing them with shorts in the pub.

Tis nothing an accidental stamp to the foot wouldn't cure.

+1, it draws your attention to their manky feet, yuck.

Not to mention their scrunched up toes.

they make sense in countries where you have an actual summer where your feet would sweat a lot in heat but don't have much of a place in Ireland.
however, even in Australia most decent bars/restaurants won't let people wearing them in.
    Espadrilles are a better option.
