Zone valve not working. Advice pleaseeeee

    Hi,
    I have zoned heating in my place, two valves one being for upstairs, the other for downstairs, switched by a digital controller.
    The valves are heat merchants f222h valves, which I have read are quite crap.
    Anyway one of the valves is not working. The motor is not turning(it is getting voltage). And it is not bringing in the boiler.
    I am completely broke at the mo, I'm doing an apprenticeship myself (late at 30) as an electrician and am away on block release at the mo, so funds are tight, with paying rent away and the mortgage at home, plus travel and no OT. So am hoping to able to do it myself.

    I would not chance removing the whole unit, valve and actuator myself, as I believe any of this 'wet work' should only be done by a plumber or you're only looking for trouble by chancing it.

    I'm wondering is it possible to replace just the motor. Can these be got seperatly? Failing that, the actuator itself? Is this possible, on the f222h units?

    Any help advice is much appreciated

    Look carefully around the side of the actuator, you should find a small button. Push it in and you ahould be able to wriggle the actuator off the main valve.
    Follow the wiring back to the j.b or wiring centre and note how its wired in. Remove the actuator and head to your nearest plumbing supplier for a replacement.
    Been a while since I replaced a H.M. actuator but as far as I can remember, Orkli actuators are a direct replacement and the EPH may do it as well.
