Need a leather cleaner and or conditioner. Or anything that can stop colour transfer?

Usually wear trousers but I can see the dye from my navy jeans transferring onto the new leather already!! I reckon I've worn jeans about 5 times ffs.

    Whats the best out there?

Used BH Snow Foam for the first time yesterday with the Karcher pressure washer and foam lance attachment from Karcher themselves. Car was completly white for about 1-2 minutes but after that I felt it ran off quickly enough. After about 5 minutes it had all pretty much ran off (you could tell there was something on the car but it wasn't laying on the car like it did the first couple of minutes). Is this normal? I left it 20 minutes anyway and power washed off and did notice the dirt did come off very easily so am still impressed none the less! Didn't bother for a 2BM Wash afterwards as I just wanted to test it out and it started to rain then too!

Bilt Hamber Auto Foam doesn't dwell as long as most snowfoams. Dwell time or thickness of foam is not a measure of how good it is ;)

Is the water that is offered for free at service stations for topping up your washer fluid with always soft water or will it be hard water if it's in a hard water area?

It be whatever in the area all right unless filtered but my guess would be not.
Worked in one and sure the water for car wash was reused if possible.

    Howdy,

I am looking for the best way to polish my windshield. Its got a lot of scuff marks from the wipers over the years and they are quite noticeable at night time.

Anyone got any tips? I have already washed and clayed it numerous times.

    Thanks

Machine polish with dedicated glass polish be best job, but no guarantee it will do the job as marks maybe to deep etc

Ideally a rayon pad on a machine polisher with a glass polish such as CarPro's Ceriglass. This needs to be followed by a glass sealant however!

It can be done but a difficult process, especially if they are heavy marks. Sometimes *cough* a new screen is the easier option.

I went all the way out to DS to pick up some BH Shampoo and they were all out! The bastards :)

    Got some ODK Jet instead.

Having some seagull issues, seems to be a few hundred million of them on the green in front of the house lately, so grabbed a bottle of Poorboys Bird **** remover!

Give it a wash, you might be surprised that its still there!!

Its 2.5 months since my last wash; used HydrO2, so its a good test to see how its holding up!!

    Me again!

I forgot to get tyre dressing in DS the other day. I was hungover t'fook so that's my excuse.

I've only ever used Meguiars Endurance gel. It is shiny but I always used it very sparingly so it was never excessively glossy / wet looking, just darkened the tyre nicely and never had an issue with sling etc

Longevity wasn't great, but maybe that was as good as it got.. but I thought the product itself was fine.

What else is out there that I should be looking at, that will give me better longevity.

50 Cal Cammo is a good, lasting tyre dressing. I use that, Megs Endurance, Turtle Wax Back to Black and Gtechniq T1 depending on my mood!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

Tyre dressing is a bit of a poxy one - a dressing that works perfectly on one manufacturer of tyre, wont on another! Michelin's are notoriously difficult to get a tyre shine to stick to!

So I could recommend 50Cal Cammo, and you could be back next week telling me its poop!! Where as another customer could be raving about how amazing it is!
Another factor is many people dont actually clean the tyre surface before dressing, so durability is also compromised!

You can bring a horse to water.....

I'm waiting for the nano version of tyre shine to come out. Basically EXO or CQuartz for tyres whereby it's applied once and will last a year.
