I was there last year with Birdwatch Ireland - its a great spot for birdwatching, lots of waterbirds (ducks and geese) and the woodland has plenty of reedbuntings, treecreepers and goldcrests.

I think Birdwatch Ireland are taking over the management of the reserve and I also think they have an outing scheduled to take place there in the coming weeks.

Hopefully BWI manage it correctly and don't just abandon the site. Are they going to have somebody to look after the place?

We used to go every winter when I was a child. My mother would ring the Ridgways to find out what birds "were in."I'd hope it will be maintained.
