    What S H wan T!

It was so crude and classless. I'm as up for a laugh as the next however it wasn't funny at all. I found it really kitsch. The "celebs" Crystal Swing and whoever was in the RTÉ canteen? Terrible effort.

Yes I know, I'm not forced to watch it but is that the best they could come up with?

BTW Croghan Hill isn't an extinct volcano, it's a volcanic plughole. Which in itself would have offered an oblique joke. Plughole mentioned with sexual undertones = butt plug.

First they came for the socialists...

I don't see him tonight but generally that's all he talks about!

Al Porter was pretty funny but the rest was cringeworthy. Linda Martin was trying to look like a cross between Suzi Quattro and Courtney Love:confused:

The "Blind Date" bit was especially cheesy. If I wanted to see Blind Date I'd get a time machine set to 1991.

Ok. Had to google a tad and Al Porter is gay. I didn't want to assume anything. Sorry gay folks but this arsehole is an ....arsehole. He sets gay men back about 25 years in this country. Will it take another 50 years for gay people to feel relaxed and comfortable in Ireland? Or do us heter'os have to put up with this enforced sh1te on TV and in news print? I know gay marriage was legalised. I know civil partnership was before that. I've lots of gay friends and that, who think this media driven gay abandon queendom is embarrassing. How long will it take a gay person to feel normal in this sack of a country?

No. Too much Al Porter overplaying the gay man thing as if its 1967 and not 2017. Its pretty simple really. Gay people are cool. This dipstick thinks he's sticking it to a different country. Nauseating.

Totally agree! Nobody forced us to watch it but at the same time it was so poorly put together and the letters of complaint will be flying in next week.
The guest line up was a joke and the 'game' played with the pigs trotters etc was petty.
overall, an epic fail for RTE.

I have starting following Al lately, he is genuine and humble.
Hes very honest and was remarkable on the Cutting Edge in November talking about depression, another time he explained his 600 points in the LC and described how hard he worked and that its a memory test etc.
While he may be OTT at times, hes very humble and hard working.
I think hes a breath of fresh air but that is just me.
It's his raw honesty that has won me over.

He speaks about his sexuality and his depression?

Talk about tapping into the zeitgeist. All he's got left is to plug a diet.

He's an open book, we all know the Irish love a gabber, he's around for a long time I'd say. :P

I'm not easily offended but i was really shocked (and not in a funny way) about his comment re: asking his mother to give him a good seeing to with the wooden spoon. It's the same old ****e with him

And yet another time in the long history of the Late Late Show where people are talking about it, but latterly it's usually for the wrong reasons.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Another year, another shambles thrown together by people more interested in the craic they were gonna have post-show in Coppers than in what the viewer at home wd experience.
It was just about watchable for me because I was in a group setting and the 'OMG' moments came thick and fast. But for the likes of pensioners - the Late Late's core audience - what a slap in the face.
