    ugh beyond excited now...

Up until this morning finances were tight due to home improvements, might have had to cancel the pre-order (:pac:), but just got word my annual bonus is in Feb's paycheque instead of March's which can pay the home improvements and the switch :D.

Now if only I had it for Monday for when I'll be cooped up in a metal tube for 7hours, can't win them all though huh?

Where can you get it for €300 with a game from amazon? I had a look on amazon.co.uk and the console with BOTW is about €390?

Company i work for gets disconnects with amazon ;)

When I was 25.... I drank some very good beer.
I drank some very good beer and played Snes with a girl with beautiful eyes
    I made her my wife
    Now we have busier lives
    and I'm not 25.... :'(

I thought there was a joke coming too... Laughter is a younger man's game. Still, I may be old, but I just got the greenlight to hit the midnight launch and lock myself in a room to play Zelda all launch weekend. And I didn't even have to ask. All *your* wives and girlfriends are ****! :)

Really dude?! Really?! You need to get over this "us Vs them" thing. It's childish and ridiculous.

Plus completely misplaced. Gimme resistance or motorstorm or GTA any day over bloody 1-2 Switch :D

I'm with you on a GTA game, but Resistance and the first Motorstorm have not aged well but are testaments to high definition representations of the colour brown.

In truth, I had more fun with ExciteTrucks on the Wii than I did with the original Motorstorm.
I had more fun with a lump hammer to the toe than I did with Resistance.

Edge magazine did have some interesting things to say about 1,2 Switch, while agreeing it should have been a pack in.
They remarked that it is very hard for people to really rate the game without trying it because it is so dependent on its tactile nature. Watching a trailer or a YouTube video of some twat giving a review of said trailer is not giving you a true impression of the game, they reckon it's really good though.
Not sure it's a day one purchase for me though.

I'll be buying it day one, in fact it and Bomberman are being paid off tomorrow.
I love this quirkier stuff ( although yes, the baby game is ridiculous and freaky) and to be honest I'm just too damn curious to have a good showcase of HD Rumble.
I reckon, dodgy advertising and corny actors aside, this could be great fun in the right circumstances.

If 1-2-switch bombs, I'll pick it up cheap, the girls will have a blast with it, freaky baby n' all. I just can't justify the cost right now. I'm hopeful there will be an initial release digital push offering amazing discounts for gold points. Because I have gold points expiring in March :D

BTW is 1-2-S all 2 player games or is there anything for 3-8 players?

So far, apart from the baby game and maybe that plate spinning one? it looks like 1v1, although there are still some games left to be revealed.

Edit: that soda game where you shake the bottle is more than two players, looks like as many as you want.

How far in advance are the directs usually announced?

A week or so usually. Maybe a little less.

You're really really shallow minded if you think ps and Xbox just bring Fifa/cod/GTA to the table.

Thanks for the personal comments and judgements!
    Always welcome!

Of course that's not all they do.

But for a lot of folk that's the limits of their yearly purchases and, to use your word, the shallow nature of their imaginations when it comes to considering what gaming can offer.

I think my ownership of most consoles you can think of should be enough to assure you that I'm only too aware of the possibilities the Xbox and PlayStation bring.
But both devices are essentially the same thing, with a literal handful of worthy exclusives. They play games, they play media, they have traditional controllers and offer broadly.thr exact same experience with minor differences, despite each having their roots on opposite sides of the Pacific.

Nintendo have been, and continue to be, more interesting, if not always more successful, though their on the go hardware has always ruled the market and the planet.
Gamegear, PSP, NeoGeo Pocket, Vita, they've all come and gone, rarely defeated by superior hardware, always superceded by a library of superior games.

There was nothing personal based on the big IF.

You're just ridiculously defensive of Nintendo. To the point of farce. Statements like the "cod/Fifa/GTA" one make you every bit as informed as those people who claim Nintendo are for kids.

    No need for it.

    Respectfully, I disagree.
There are hordes of people who only buy into a handful of key franchises each year.
And it's only when sales falter that these franchises stop being annual issues, like Assassins Creed and Need for Speed.

Once again, I own most consoles, I play mostly PS4 these days, with a few on the XB1 but not as many.
I do love Nintendo and only wish I had the time to play more.
The most played Nintendo these days is my New 3DS, but the WiiU does get an outing every week.
I have become pretty hardware agnostic, with my focus on the games rather than the box that enables me to play them, but Nintendo have done more than anyone else to innovate and generate new ways to play with their hardware efforts, and this is reflected in almost every hardware device they've released.

And, you continue to be personal.
    So, well done there.

If you make such a ridiculous statement and back it up,then you are indeed in that bracket.

You have a real issue with big budget multi release franchises? Cash ins? You'l need to take a closer look at your beloved Nintendo then. Cough *amiibo* cough *endless mario tie ins* cough.

Personally I'd like rather see all 3 companies succeed and embrace the choice rather than making childish accusations and slants toward your less loved consoles.

The amount of brilliance on PlayStation alone in the past few generations puts Nintendo to shame.

Do you consider yourself ridiculously critical of Nintendo etc? Genuine question.

    Anyway.

I'm hoping for some impressions on switch accessories before launch. Official Nintendo case is €20.

I adore my Wii U. I hope Nintendo make Switch a success. I have no reason to be overtly critical. So no, I do not, genuine answer. Nintendo make some bizarre decisions and if it wasn't for their amazing legacy and getting hella lucky with the Wii they'd already be gone the way of sega.

Ok. I would disagree but fair enough. I don't understand the hella lucky bit either, they created a console that was incredibly popular and subsequently failed to build on that quite considerably. The Wii has a fantastic and diverse amount of games, it's a pity critics often home in on the, unfortunately, much too frequent shovelware. Ironically, the last console Nintendo tried to compete power wise was the one before the Wii which was much less successful, yet it's what some people exaggeratedly yearn for now.

That's the one I'm getting. From what i can tell it holds 5 carts behind the center pad, which also doubles as a kind of screen protector.
And, apparently it can be used as a stand for tabletop mode.

The only reason the Wii was such a smash hit was due to motion controls, plain and simple. In my opinion it was luck how that caught on like wildfire but yes they deserve full credit.

Where have I been critical of Nintendo outside of the non existent launch lineup( fact, and before someone butts in, 2 wrongs don't make a right) and pathetic 1-2 Switch?!
