Help with VU+ Solo 2 and Saorview / KODI

    Hi, I purchased the following box with Openvix image: Vu+ Solo SE V2 Twin Tuner DVB-C/T/T2 Cable / Terrestrial Linux HD PVR Ready Receiver

    I am wondering if there is a guide or instructions on how to set it up to receive free to air channels/saorview? Do I need to get an additional USB tuner for the box to receive Saorview?

    Also can I install KODI on the box?

    You seem to have got the box with the terrestrial tuner which will be ok to pick up the Saorview channels, you will need to connect your aerial to this and then run a scan to tune in the channels.

    If you require the Freesat as well then you would need a usb dvb-s2 tuner to plug into the box and then you would need a satellite dish etc. to connect to this tuner to pick up the freesat channels.

    There is a manual and guides here although they might be a bit confusing if doing this for the first time.

    Have you connected the box yet and did it run through an install guide?

    Thanks for the info and link. Yes, I had the box previously connected. I had it setup for CS through VM cable and it was working perfectly however the server went down so now I am just looking to use my box for Saorview and KODI.

    Do you know if KODI can be set up on this box? I have KODI on my laptop but it would be great if I could control it on tv through the box.

    I have a similar spec box to the VU+ and Kodi is not great on it, they don't run a full featured Kodi similar to that on a laptop etc.

    The VU+ range are the only Enigma2 based device that does actually run a full version of Kodi. Do a software update to make sure you are on the latest Version of OpenVix. Go to Menu, Plugins, Download plugin's (think its the green button) , then under extensions select kodi Launcher. This will then add the Plugin to Menu/Plugins. Configure it the same way as you would normally but I would stay away from Large Builds and only put on what you need.
