Taste off water after heated in kettle

It's a new kettle, and there's bit of a taste off the water from it. No one else seems to mind. But should I be concerned? And if there's any leaching of chemicals when it's heated, this mightn't be good. Anyone have knowledge on this sort of thing? I'm certain it's the kettle.

Incorrect - I don't drink the same water that the peasants do. We've our own well. No chlorine, fluorine, brain dumbening chemicals, etc.

The taste remains a mystery!
