Boiler efficiency question

Hi there - we had a BER assessment done on our house in summer 2013 and the report says that the boiler efficiency was between 70-80%. In Sept 2015 we a new oil burner was fitted....

Question is whether this would increase the boiler efficiency?

It's an oil boiler...

If the new one is a condensing (and it most likely should be ) boiler then it will be more efficient. How much more will depend on quality of installation and size matching.

Thanks - I understand it's only a new boiler (yes, condensing unit) that would increase efficiency...

Siobhan, I think that you said on another thread that the boiler was 15 years old and it was a new burner that was fitted. If so, there will be very little change in efficiency.

Thanks Jim. I was assuming a boiler was meant when burner was said. (ass of you and me).

Siobhan: Surprised a new burner was needed on a condensing boiler. Unlikely a new burner would do anything for efficiency.
