http://www.independent.ie/sport/golf/irelands-shane-lowry-stays-in-contention-in-phoenix-open-35423161.html
Who writes the golf coverage in the Independent? Lowry played the back nine first last night and started well, then played the front nine level par. They have it in reverse.

He shot 69 day one, 68 on Friday, again they gave it wrong. Surely if you get paid to write an article you should know this?

What's with the php thing? Can you not just stick a proper link in that we can click?

3 birdies in a row to start his 3rd round to get within 2 of the lead

Lowry stuck it into 5 feet on 16, missed the putt unfortunately. sky haven't shown him at all.

And then they showed him making a poor approach to the 18th.......thankfully he still got his par. Good day for Shane - shot 66, his best round so far.

I think it's an american feed sky use so the have no control over who or what golf is shown

Just got to catch up on all the sport today. Seen on snapchat that Shane was giving cans of Guinness out to the crows on 16 :D

Apparently around 200 thousand fans in Arizona today!!!! That's absolutely ridiculous

Yeah but the atmosphere isn't coming across on the TV as anything special. Could be just the production.

His poor caddy having to carry all that beer around for 16 holes

It does seem more muted than usual.

Ha ha. I assume they store all the give away stuff at the 16th.

Needs a good finish to make this respectable ....+1 for the day. Down to 25th now.

Disappointing level par round today, but tied 16th should get him a decent cheque.

I think he's playing in Pebble Beach this week.....could do with another good week....and then taking a month off as the Lowry's expecting their first sprog.

He seems to be in the field for this week, so let's hope for another good week.

I've been following Shane closely over the last few weeks and I've noticed he seems to be missing a lot of putts from inside 5 feet. Just a while ago he had a par putt from 4' 6" and missed. He seems to be doing it a lot. By contrast mcdowell just had a near 10 footer for par on the par 3 and sure enough he holed it. Has Shane always been weak with the putter from that range or has something changed?

I know taking two putts in isolation as above isn't a great sample for the two, but I have noticed it with Lowry recently. Not just par putts either, I've seen a few birdie chances missed from that range as well.

His putting has always seemed inordinately quick to me, as if proper care and attention are to be disdained. Refreshing in some ways but wouldn't be surprised if it comes back to bite him.
