Well done Scotland to battle every inch of that victory

Gutted that we made life so difficult for ourselves

Joe is sharpening his boot with a diamond file as we speak.

Better team won, fair play Scotland.

Joes the most over rated coach in the world tbh.

People thinking beating SA was a good result when we should have won all three.

Be lucky to win more than the Italy game tbh.

Nothing like waiting for a 6 nations for a year and it being done on the first matchday.

Poite giving penos and ignoring multiple offsides by Scotland.

    Nothing to do with Poite.

We lost that game in the first half.

IRFU should fine them all for that shambles.

Maybe that's why you don't kick away possession with a little under five minutes remaining and you're losing - you don't know if you'll f***ing get the ball back. Nicely done Murray.

Can the seagulls calm themselves please. Still a championship to go for.

Joe needs to go back and really decide on some of his selections, particularly the back 3. Scotland were the better team, extremely poor performance by Ireland, you can blame Poite as much as you want but we should never have been in that situation.

Disgusting loss. Scotland are brutal. Same ol Irish mentality, can't 'get ourselves up' for it when the expectations are on us. Shades of the QF exit to Argentina this performance.

Scots probably just deserved it but the ref was awful, how no Scot went to the bin is beyond me. England will win the 6 nations now imo

Ringrose done very well in the second half to make up for Earls defensive deficiencies.

Don't make me laugh, ringrose would want to have a look at his own deficiencies

Taking O Brien off with what 20 mins to go was madness.

Would NZ ever take McCaw off in that position. Never.

We lost to SCOTLAND not England or Wales. Shambles!

Irish back play was non existent. All Ireland had was bosh and it wasn't enough.

    Depressed :(

That knock on from the lineout near their line was crucial. Score there and game was over

    Some massive bellends in here.

    Massively disrespectful to Scotland.

Tommy Bowe is done. Earls can also take a seat. Kearney played well today. Our forwards were a mixed bag.

Shame. Too many errors at crucial moments, totally unforced mostly as well.

Fair play to Scotland. Much better than I had anticipated and definitely will be capable of asking questions of others.

Also butchered two chances second half. Stander to 8 please . Well done Scotland but two or three Irish players living on reputations need to be retired now. Heads must roll after this.

Thought the ref was OK, can't blame him for our first half performance. Thought kearney was bad and should be taken out for the next game. We always seem to be the "next tournament" team, we rarely perform when it matters.

Ireland played for just 30 minutes. First 40 were shockingly bad. Worst I've seen in years. Next 30 min were better but mainly because Scotland seemed to take their foot off the gas. Then when Ireland went ahead Scotland woke up and started to play. As a result the last 10 minutes were way below what was needed and expected from Ireland. Scotland fully deserve the win. Ireland will be fighting with Italy to avoid the wooden spoon if that is the best we can do.

Some of the senior members in the squad need to hold their hand up here. Probably the worst game Best has played in a green shirt for a long time. Heaslip was poor too. Apart from the odd break, the back line was very poor.

How Scotland never got atleast one yellow card is beyond belief. They cynically killed the ball twice preventing tries.

We didn't deserve that. Absolutely awful 1st half, and not good enough in the 2nd, but Poite can **** right off. They were constantly offside and on the wrong side of the ruck, and he did absolutely nothing.

    ****ing disgusted.

Killed the ball 3 times within a yard or two of their own line. Very lucky to avoid a yellow card.

Each Ireland player should hand their English counterpart their medal on Paddy's weekend before making their holiday plans for june.

    Embarrassment, the lot of them.

IMO our pack lost us that in the first half, looked like they were believing the hype around them. Totally bullied and gave us no platform.
