I redid my fingerprint and it's working perfectly now, strange. Spotify is still crashing for me though.

So the inevitable happened and I've broken the screen on my s7 edge. Had an Otterbox cover on and everything was just one of those things.

I've seen online that the s7 edge can be tricky to fix and is never the same after a repair. Is this true?

Would Samsung be my best bet for sending it off or can someone recommend somewhere else. I'm based in Cavan so it'll probably have to be somewhere I can post it too.

Which cover did you have and how did you manage to break the screen? Just wondering as I have the s7 edge with otterbox crystal cover myself.

Unfortunately the edge curve seems to break easier than the flat screen.

Think someone said in this thread before you can drop it into Samsung store in Swords or Dundrum but they send it off to Fonfix in Sandyford D18. Cost €235 or thereabouts.

Does the Beep n go app that's pre-installed on the phone work for anyone here?

Can't get it to scan like the S6 used to. Was a known issue with S7 but it's supposed to be fixed but support have been useless.

Anyone have a 'Baidu \ Push Services' folder appear on their S7 ?

Seems to have got there either after installing EZ File Explorer or Zedge. Needed Zedge for a notification tone and EZ file explorer so I could change my twitter tone (bug in twitter on android that will only let you use the default notification tone). Both apps are unisntalled now but this Baidu folder and empty 'Push Service' sub folder keeps creating itself. And although the folder is empty, there is chance the api could be sitting in root somewhere (doubtful I suppose), but if so it has the ability to send files, texts, make calls. Plus every time I run the optimization app on storage it removes the 'Baidu Push Service'. But once the folders are re-created the optimizer picks up the service again. No sign of any hidden files or folder either. Of course I'm not rooted as I don't want to trip Knox so can't know for sure what's going on. Blasted Chinese software. I know it's their version of Google, but totally untrustworthy as expected.

Looks like a factory reset for me. Will probably use Samsung account restore as I find it keeps more settings and data than Googles restore. Anyone think it's crap the way you can't do an on demand google backup of your apps / phone like you can do with Samsung or Apple cloud.

Before a reset try disabling the associated services in Samsung Package Disabler Pro. Only 79¢ I think in the play store.

Anyone ever have any issues with the auto brightness? Mine has been acting up the last 2 days. As in lighting up the screen way too bright when in a dark area and not readjusing to a lower brightness automatically, can be féckin blinding at night! Just restarted the phone and will see if it does the same again tonight but interested to see if anyone else has experienced this.

auto brightness has been terrible for me the whole time compared to iphone. Don't think I ever had to manually change brightness on that bar when it would be at 10% in bed and I'd put it down to minimum but I'm constantly moving it around manually on the s7 e

Ever since going to nougat, I'm having a little issue with WhatsApp.

When sending photos and writing something about them, I can't see the text being wrote as it's stuck behind the keyboard unlike on android 6.

Just annoying as I send alot of photos and now in often making mistakes as I can't see what in typing.

It's the little things lol.

Ditto... PITA... I use Swiftkey if that's any help. Hoping it will be fixed soon by WhatsApp update or maybe its an Android bug.

After my last post I tried Gboard but same problem and I see the last person tried Swiftkey so it's definitely an issue with WhatsApp/Nougat.

is anyone having trouble with their earphones? I have lost sound in the right ear. I have tried blowing out the Jack with air and also tried a full reinstall, neither of which worked.
I have also tried 3 different sets of earphones, all are the same with no sound the right ear.
