    Hi all,

I have Samsung fridgefreezer, model RS21DCNS, which started making horrible sound this morning, there is ice built up at the back of the wall in the fridge part as well as the fridge itself doesn't really seem cool eventhough the temperature of the fridge says 2 degrees.

Any idea what is going on, and if possible to buy a part? It was mentioned to me this could be thermostat but not sure. Is it difficult to fit the part if I ordered online? Alternatively, would anybody know where in Dublin I could get a part? Thank you for all the help!

    Usually this is simple enough.

There is one or more small drains at the back of the inside of the fridge where condensed vapour goes. If these drains get blocked up, the vapour has nowhere to go and freezes into ice on the back wall. This has the perverse effect of insulating the motor from your fridge and the end result is that it doesn't get very cool.

Empty the whole unit and switch it off. Do a full defrost of the fridge and freezer. Find the drains at the back. You'll see little "ramps" for the water to go down and holes in the back of the fridge wall for the water to go into. Clean them out with a pipe cleaner or similar. Let the whole thing dry out before switching it back on and refilling it.
