Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to where in Kildare would be least affected by light pollution? Went out to the Curragh last night, graveyard near Athgarvan and got a pretty nice view of the sky, but there's still a lot of light visible on the horizon. Rather than driving up to the Sally Gap or some other barren but distant spot, I'm wondering if there might be anywhere closer to home (Newbridge) that would do.

First time poster..I'd suggest the north side or shoulder of the Hill of Allen which overlooks predominately large areas of bogland and is relatively sparely populated. There would be a lot of extraneous light on the curragh from the Camp,Newbrige and the motorway

Try Carbury in Co Kildare... the back of Carbury Castle might be a good spot.:)
