feeding meal to heifers pre calving?

    does this increase milk yield if you feed say a week or too before calving or does it lead to harder calvings or should i just stick to good silage and minerals?

    Not sure but the calf grows more in the last month than in the previous 8 months so you're more or less feeding the calf.

    Would be no harm 7 days before calving, allow the stomach get used to the bit of grain prior to hitting the parlour
