Recommend Paint Rollers?

Ok, so I am renovating house, getting to stage where I am looking to paint. Previously I just bought rollers off Dulux or wherever I was buying paint. I always found them ok but not great.

I want to do a proper job on this house so looking to buy decent rollers for the job. I have experience from years ago working as painter and could never find a decent roller like the ones we used on site.

Any idea's of where I can buyer these rollers and what is there name?

I use ProDec advance, Polyamide.
They come in medium pile but I use the long pile one the whole time,you just need to be a bit more careful not to leave "orange peal" effect.
They last ages and are easy to wash out. Sorry but I can't remember how much they were, around 6/7 euro I think.
Johnstones stick them as I'm sure a few other places do.
Stay clear of the cheapest ****e.

While you get a cage a sleeves for that price. Does that mean it's value for money.

I'm painting over 20 years. Value for money to me is.
1) something that will last. I have some of them sleeves I named for well over a year in everyday use.
2) I can wash out that sleeve in about 2 mins, saving a lot of time.

But each to their own.

Same manufacturer.. but a different fabric.

Just done a quick search so not sure if you can buy from this place. But these are the sleeves I was talking about

Thanks, yes I just found them before you.....

I normally prefer a medium pile, I don't like the long pile because I find it can fill up with too much paint, have you tried the medium pile out of interest?

Yeah have tried the both. I actually prefer the long pile for the reason you don't. Just means I'm not going to the paint scuttle ever second. As I said you just need to be a bit more careful,and roll out the paint more.
Another plus with these sleeves is there is very little spray with them. So when I'm doing good ceilings I don't end up looking like a snowman..lol

Normally use Purdy paint brushes but there not cheap.

Fleetwood "Glider" is a reasonable brush. Should be about e10.00 ish for a 3"..
I never used the one you linked. So I can say anything about it.

To be honest that's only a dusting brush at best!

If you don't want to spend too much and you're at Woodies, they do a 2.5 inch angle sash brush called Mark Px, it's about a tenner and a decent brush.

I just linked to that brush because it looks similar to that, I bought a couple of similar looking brush in Dulex a few years back....

Over the years I have lost all of them or more to point they where borrowed and never returned.

Cash is not the issue, I want to buy good now and keep them, finally have huge sheds to keep everything stored

Purdy colossus for sleeves, best about IMHO.

Picasso or Wooster for waterbased brushes, corona for an oil brush.

Constantly trying to update, but these would be my choices. Available in mrcb, colortrend shops, pat McDonnell etc

For the frame do you just buy the standard cheap ones? I was going to just buy a purdy one with the sleeves.....

Frames are always Wooster green. €15ish but money well spent.
