Agree, Need some muscle in the forwards now more than guile. Murphy would give nobody an easy game with good ball

Happy to see Shane o Keefe get a chance, probably not a starter for me but offers a lot of toughness and one of the best in Cork in the air. Hope Robbie o Flynn gets a run too. Where's Brosnan?

Ah jesus lads, Eoghan Murphy had been tried every winter since2006, even when Erins own won the county in 2007 up until the waterford crystal in 2011. Great free taker and club player but has been found to not be up to the level. We're already carrying one fella for his frees without adding another. FFS

    McGrath Cup - Cork 2-22 Tipp 1-10

Lots of talking points from that game

Tipp are well off the pace, evidenced by their tonking by the Kerry u21 team but good to see Mullins from Eire Og starting at full back - very solid defender, not sure he's big enough for IC full back just yet though.

Biggest talking point is Niall Coakley bagging 2-3, all but one point from play. Had been told last year he was flying for St.Judes so good to see him being given a shot

Absolutley. Not telling us anythinf we didnt knoe but fair play to him for speaking out. Not that it will make an iota of a difference to how things are being run.

Fair play paddy kelly, i had heard that 'consultation' meeting in ovens was a total joke already and most people left at lunch. First question to healy tomorrow in mallow should be -why are you putting up with this bull**** and why are ye training in fermoy and having to biild a ****ing gym? **** me this is a joke, fermoy actually have a very good gym btw. Most of the players live in the city or west cork why are they not training in cit like the hurlers?

The County Board gave him the job because they knew he would put up with this.
It's partly this reason why Cork footballer's have never had a really top class coach.
Because a top class coach would not put up with it.

Well there is change on the way. Frank has announced his retirement. No, wait. That was 8 years ago, in 2009. He did say that he was giving 2 years notice, so would not actually be stepping down until 2011.

What Paddy Kelly described today is what so many people have known about for years and years. If this was in any industry or other organisation, there would be uproar. The 'consultation' that supposedly went on last September out in Eire Og, with no opportunity to discuss or have meaningful follow up is what people have spoken about for years and years and years.

I was a dedicated supporter of Cork GAA teams for years, travelling all over the country to support them. Four years ago, I took the decision that while Frank Murphy and his cronies remain in charge, I will never again go to a Cork match, hurling or football. I have stuck to my decision, although I've often found it hard. We're going nowhere, very quickly and those responsible should hang their heads in shame.

How can this be allowed to happen? Very serious questions need to be asked, beginning with how could somebody announce their retirement, yet that same person still remains, with an absolute stranglehold on power, 8 years later, during which time the general state of Cork GAA and morale has descended to an all time low?

It was a totally experimental team but the experiment didn't work very well

Great to see the hurlers rack up such an impressive score, don't care who they were up against, they needed that.

Footballers got a lot closer to Kerry than I thought they would, 13 wides and a missed pen aswell , that was a very good Kerry team for this time of the year.

Wish he'd give Pa Collins a proper go starting. Hopefully the league sees him take the number 1 jersey and if so i cant see Nash sticking around so Dalton to step up.

Utterly predictable response from Ger Lane this morning.
One of these guys is lying and imo it ain't Paddy Kelly.

The world and their dog knows the discrepancy between how the footballers and hurlers are regarded and treated by the CCB.
