Not everyone, just me. Let's call a spade, a spade here.
I just don't see how i personally can justify buying it for 500eu on a console which does not have a single game I want. If they would launch q brand new monster hunter game on launch i would be in smyths or gamestop shouting: shut up and take my money.

It's my personal point of view, but if someone sees the game they really want to play and can afford to buy it, then please more power to them! I am haply for them!

Technically you do get 2 controllers in console for 330eu, but those only good for mini games. I don't really think you will be name to properly play splatoon with just two joy-cons. That arms game looks pretty cool, but again, to play it with friend you need that proper 90eu second set of joy cons.

Honestly I wasn't lumping you into that, Zelda doesn't interest you, so you won't buy it yet. That's pretty clear cut, logical and a reasonable assessment as to why you're not buying it.

There's people a few pages back doing basically what you quoted, no reasoning expect "I'll need the pro controller it'll be 500 quid"

Two sets of joycons is surely a better idea anyways?

I don't see why games won't work with 2 jon cons though? They're totally fully fleshed out half controllers, two together is a full controller

Was it confirmed if there are analog shoulder buttons on the controllers?

I read that they're not analog.

I'm sure they could easily have made the Wii U Pro controller compatible but they probably want more money for new peripherals or maybe they don't want any ties to the Wii brand. Still it's another misstep.

Just my opinion but if your buying a switch to play FIFA, don't.

I don't disagree, but we should be getting a proper version of FIFA.

No chance IMO it will be a proper version. It will be a PS3/360 port which will probably have ultimate team so they can make loads of money but will be missing a few modes like pro clubs and the journey.

It's mid season, maybe FIFA 18 will arrive at a later date.

It's unclear what sort of game FIFA will be on the Switch but I think it's worth saying that Peter Moore corrected Tom Phillips initial tweet by saying it was 'custom built'. Of course that doesn't outright deny anything and this is EA after all.

It won't. Launch FIFA will sell like crap because it's not proper FIFA and EA will point to those sales numbers and say there's no demand for a proper FIFA.

Bring the old games, but leave the old hardware

One of the reasons why the messaging with the Wii U was so muddled and confusing was because the old Wii hardware still worked with the system.

This meant when Nintendo tired to advertise the new system and people saw controllers they already owned laying around the house, they assumed the Wii U was an addition to the system they already owned, not a entirely new one.

To avoid mixed messaging like this, Nintendo needs to cut the red tape of previous generations and start fresh.

BTW I only wanted my Wii U controller saved. Everything else could be thrown overboard.

I think I saw some discussion on Emily Rogers twitter which negatively compared the Switch Pro controller and that it wasn't any better than the standard job. In which case, I might as well cough up for that and the vague possibility of four-player. In case I ever have four friends.

I think if you are buying a Switch to play Western games you are making a big mistake. I'm hoping it's the next refuge for quirky Japanese games and JRPGs.

    Fair enough point.

Thing is, that splatoon will need two analog sticks, I can't see it work with one joy pad. And in arms game, they showed it, that each player have to have two joy-cons.
I agree on pro controller. That's why when I quoted price list I went for proper 2 joycons and dock. Its a proper controller, which can be used for 4 players on mini and smaller games.

Again, I know there are a lot of people who love zelda and they will buy it for it. I am happy for them. Its a shame there is nothing for me on on in now. I can't justify that price tag.

As long as it doesn't end up like the Vita where all you ever get is badly translated visual novels and dodgy Neptunia games.

With the Vita now rolling around waiting to be put down I'm hoping developers port games over.

I just checked my Gamestop account and it says I've no orders but I paid the €5 deposit for the Switch last week and they took it from my bank account. Has this happened to anyone else?

ah this is the last thing I need. Might just pre-order on Smyths.

Edit: Mine says I've no orders but if I go into the specific "My orders" section I can see the Switch.

I just did the highly sophisticated thing and walked into Smyth's and gave the guy €20.

I don't think symths lets you pay it off in little bits though.

But if they did release a proper FIFA I could see the appeal especially on the go. While I've only played it once, (that was enough to put me to sleep) BUT having spoken to the 'real' gamers this is the game to have!!! So imagine playing it competitively on the train or setting up a league on a lads weekend away.

They'll release the underpowered version and blame Nintendo lol

Their website is terrible. Is there a link I can type to get to the "My Orders" section?

They should use the aiming mechanics from ARMS for shooting in FIFA. Let's see.

Customer services should bring you to it and I agree it's horrendous.

Yeah like the wiimote controls in pro evo, they were fantastic, not rubbish at all and led to a new way of playing.

    *Gets sick

I actually just rang up Henry St there and asked about my click and collect order. Yer man says they've been cancelling online orders because there's a directive to take 50 yoyo's on order and the click and collect is only a fiver. He told me to head in and I can top the pre order up to 50 no problem.

I already know how this is going to go. I posted his recent thoughts on the Wii U VC in the "Virtual Console, WiiWare, eShop and DSiWare Releases" thread. I expect plenty of colourful language and probably to agree with everything he says.

Edit: Just finished watching it and agreed with everything except having a pop at Super Mario Odyssey and its comparison to Sonic 06. It's hugely frustrating watch them make so many poor decisions.
