box bloated or something going to internal flash possibly ,start afresh with new image ,save any important cfgs to pc first.
setting up box from scratch with new image lets it run better.

What would you guys recommend as a streaming app for an Android box?

I want to stream to a different room, using Dream Player on my phone.

you can configure kodi to get the streams/epg/bouquets from the enigma box.

havent done it myself in a long time so not sure of the steps

Its still probably the Xtrend ET8500 for 200 euro .
There dont seem to be many new decent receivers released in the last few months.

The Mutant HD51 ,which is a 4k receiver could be an option too,its ~250 euro
There should be more 4k receivers released in the coming months, they seem a bit behind schedule.

I posted this in the OS Edision os mini thread in "Satellite" but here seems better... so here goes..

Has anyone looked at / bought / considered the Edision OS Mega Combo? In the absence of a separate thread it seems appropriate to ask here.

Nearly double the cost of the OS mini... but a 1.6Ghz cpu, more RAM, H265 support, room for an internal 2.52 drive etc, triple tuner (and I suppose in theory quad tuner if you use the third hybrid tuner as sat and add a dvbt stick)

I've had an Amiko Alien 2 for 2.5 years now and it has been usable and flexible but very slow and a tad unstable so I will likely upgrade. First I was going for the OS mini with 2 sat tuners and an external DVBT stick but now maybe I'll splurge on the mega.

Just curious if anyone has any comments? It is very new so limited opinions around. Is it worth the extra? Also I note that the specs say a speed adjustable fan... so that worries me a little... I'd rather it not need a fan!

    Ix.

so you want to get an internal hdd and not use the fan  they are what keeps a box running cooler.you would be surprised how warm boxes can run while in use multi tasking.

    Good spot !
I hadn't heard of this receiver before but its a heck of a lot of receiver for the money ,~200 euro from Germany.

The spec ,cpu, ram and flash size is a match for most of the other high end receivers like the Et10000,8500 ,Solo 2 ,etc .

It has 3 tuners built in ,one being a hybrid so you can actually have a sat feed and terrestrial connected to this and use one at a time .
So you can have 3 sat feeds and one terrestrial .

Wifi is built in ,nice added bonus

It also seems to run proper Kodi

It looks like the best value high end receiver on the market.

Obviously its a new receiver so the software may need a few months to iron out the bugs but Openatv and Vix support it ,so it looks extremely promising.

Its only just released too ,and with the 4k receivers coming out soon it should come down a bit .
Might hit 160 on the German sites.
Edision are really doing good work with their receivers ,they are superb bang per buck.
If only the Broadcom chips had better picture quality

Looking to get an external Hard Drive for my Edision OS mini, will any usb hard drive work or do I need one with certain specs? Would a hard dive that is powered through a socket be more suitable then one that is USB powered?

Currently looking at a Edision OS Mega, what alternative should I consider that has...
    - 2x DVB-S2
    - 1x DVB-T2
    - PVR
    - EPG
    - wifi

The Edision OS mini triple also fits the bill at approx 90e less, but has less horsepower thou is the extra horse power really needed?

    Folks quick question .

Mate of mine having a problem with his Solo 2.
It will switch on but that's where it stays "Vu+ Solo2 " on the LCD and won't go any further.
I put a new image on a USB and it seemed to read it fine but the same problem as before box is stuck on load.

    Any ideas folks ?

I take it you are using a kingston usb and that link is for a clone so be wary and I seem to recall latest vix was causing grief. Can you try openpli or openatv?

using vix on all my boxes with no issues, there was an issue if online updating causing grief when a new flash was done.

i only flash files from wos home of vix for genuine receivers and setup from scratch again.

I havent heard anything Glic ,the dual core Sh4 receiver never came to fruition.

Most of the new 4k receivers like the Octagon Sf4008 and Mutant HD51 use an Arm processor instead of Mips so these should have better picture quality ,especially sd ,than previous Mips based receivers.

Ordered the Mutant HD51 a few days ago.€230 delivered which I though was reasonable.
