Agreed on the pricing, id be happy if it matched US Price 300$ 280e heck even 300e,
but likes RRP in europe now going 350e, thats crazy especially as their is only one game really at launch that is out same day for Wii U.

Neon Blue link if anyone needs it, its not showing if search but can preorder this too...
    Nintendo Switch (Neon Red/Neon Blue)

Ya ill be doing the same to help out buddies that will likely miss out due to shortages. Happy with my Amazon Discount so that comes to 288e, Gamestop will likely be 320e.

Now where to preorder "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Master or Special Editions"

Nintendo UK Store has nothing up to purchase, strange.

Those Master and Special editions may be different over here, they are only US confirmed for now, there's usually a different special edition in Europe.

At least we can import the better special editions now

Kinda tempted to try and pick up a second hand Wii U for Zelda, with a bunch of games and maybe wait until closer to Christmas for the Switch, when there's more stuff available and there's maybe been a price drop.

The Nintendo UK website only mentions a Limited Edition on top of the standard, containing the game, sword statue and CD.

I preordered on amazon now too, presume prices will go back to half this price later as its likely a placholder. Beats trying to buy of nintendo uk.

In case anyone needs it, can always cancel it too.

    Well that was underwhelming.

I was really hoping here's be a major stand out title that would make me jump on this pre Xmas 2017 but nope. No Mario, no Pokemon, no Starfox, no metroid.

I can buy Zelda for the Wii u if I want it that badly (probably won't. Nothing quite like Xmas Zelda).

Splatoon 2 interests me but not a system seller.

Over priced as well. Think someone else mentioned a deal on Xbox one around 230€ with a game. There's similar on ps4 if you shop about which again puts Nintendo in casual/new player land IF they had launched it with Pokemon and then the rest of us who would buy it at some point anyway.

I'm a big advocate of the Wii U and have got huge enjoyment out of it in the past few years but after the absolute abysmal marketing of it and poor choice of launch titles I was really hoping they'd try and sell this.

Hopefully I'm wrong and maybe a Pokemon title down the line will kick start sales again, similarly with Mario but they're playing a dangerous game in a very saturated market in my opinion.

Was hoping for it to be no more than €350 with Zelda included.

Just one ordered mine there on Amazon for 240 pound with the fast shipping option I won't get the console on the 3rd but don't mind once I am saving a few found thanks to my discount with Amazon.

Other then that I see Notting wrong with the switch. Handheld console with the near garfic lv of a ps4/Xbox one I can't he mad at all.

Can't wait for it now and hope I get more use out of then the Playstation vr.....

    Jesus that price!

Puts a question mark over it's standing as a second console in homes.

Official prices for hardware from Nintendo:
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller -- $69.99
    Joy-Con Controller Sets -- $79.99
    Individual L/R Joy-Con Controllers -- $49.99
    Joy-Con Charging Grip -- $29.99
Nintendo Switch Dock Set -- $89.99
    Joy-Con Wheel (Set of 2) -- $19.99

Gotta say, thats damn pricey for a single controller, Pro or Joy-con.

Seriously underwhelming presentation, its not a good launch announcement when you walk away knowing of 1 game coming at launch.

The focus on the Joy-Cons and such makes me think Nintendo is trying to capture the Wii motion controls "lightning in a bottle" rather than push it as a serious games platform.

All this talk of "HD rumble" and gyro controls but a weak as hell processor and GPU, the above prices for dock and Joy-con makes it look like the Switch itself is an afterthought, just thrown together as a method to get Joy-cons and their amazing "fun, innovative gameplay" onto a big screen

It'll be interesting to see if it will launch here on the 3rd. I guess stock availability will influence that.

I will get one eventually (most probably Christmas).

Price wise it's what I expect from a new console. (I remember buying the original NES with super Mario bros and not being able to afford a new game for a year lol - but that game was my all time favourite since I played it on an arcade machine). I picked up an XBox 1S recently and while the price was great, I'm playing only FPS on it (my PS4 is collecting dust and my WiiU still has a great library of games to be played).

Not enough hours in the day

I really hope my eyes are deceiving me but it's up for €499.99 on GameStop's website.

Second Nintendo console in a row that I won't be jumping on at launch. I can get BotW for my Wii U so would really rather save the money til Mario Odyssey comes out... Maybe even later.

Was so excited for the Switch after the reveal but now, I'm just disappointed.

That was just a placeholder price. Will probably be about €350-370 with them.

Good Christ that is some hefty peripheral prices!!!!!

Also did I hear the battery on this thing I'll only be 2 and a half hours to 6 hours depending on the game/usage?
Did they not learn the lesson from the battery on the Wii U?

Not trying to kill the hype train here but same ol Nintendo making the same ol mistakes it seems.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-01-13-the-nintendo-switch-paid-online-service-doesnt-sound-great

Is this right? You pay a subscription for Nintendo online services but stuff like voice chat will only be accessible via a smartphone app?

So for launch so far, we have

    Zelda BOTW
    1-2 Switch
    Super BombermanR

Confirmed for the US, which looks very similar anyway

    March 2017
    Zelda: BotW (+Special/Master editions) $59.99/$99.99/$129.99
    1, 2, Switch $49.99
    I Am Setsuna
    Has Been Heroes
    Just Dance 2017
Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! $19.99
    Super Bomberman R

Gamestop italy has the switch up for 329.99. So at least 350 here.

Does anyone else see them use a strategy of dropping the price just before Christmas when Mario is being released so it sells (hopefully) bucketloads then?

Just wish it wasn't being slated from some quarters already because of the price, "power" and seemingly lack of games on day 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,010 ✭✭✭GhostInTheRuins

I just watched the presentation, underwhelming isn't the word for it.

I was looking forward to getting a switch asap but now I'll wait unitil mario comes out next Christmas and see what the lineup is like then. Disappointing.

Wouldn't be surprised, and I think I'll be holding off until around then before purchasing now.

I'm hyped for the console, zelda, presentation was good, but why on gods earth is the launch line up so... meh. The point og goddamn Wii U ports is to tide us over till the big stuff starts coming. I mean, sure Zelda is enough. But they shouldn't be going for like, the lowest bar they can.
