Please clarify how you think he bullied her?
I've no doubt she went through a hard time, and it's awful what happened to her. She may have been given a hard time by someone in there, but I didn't take any issue with anything in the article that Anton had said.

Yup. And bullying is only verbal.

Wow. Just wow. I sincerely hope you're never on the receiving end of a bullying campaign.

And any credibility your opinion may have had is lost with that opening part.

Does anyone actually say that in real life or is it purely an outraged boards.ie thing?

    You didn't answer the question...

it's a bit crappy to imply something that isn't actually in the article, when the person you're slinging the mud at isn't here to defend himself, nor is the purported victim able to confirm it.

Unless you know something that isn't in the public domain??

I don't think we can really know enough about the situation there to make any judgement about the people involved.
Mental health issues have been well highlighted recently but were certainly not as prominent in the public mind back in 2011. I don't think we should be using this to score points on an online forum.

Any recommendations? I'm listening to Eamon Dunphy's interview with Paul Kimmage at the minute

Second Captains are excellent, the GAA hour with Colm Parkinson is very good.

Non-sporting ones then An Irishman Abroad has some good interviews, Serial is very good as is Untold, they both look into two particular murders that had dodgy investigations for various reasons

Neither did the poster to whom my post was addressed.

There's more than one article btw.

Not really into sport but those three are excellent. I've been listening to You Must Remember This which is old Hollywood stories, she does an in depth season on Charles Manson as well which is grimly fascinating.

The Memory Palace is one recommended too, seems to be good.

Also loads of BBC stuff, their documentaries and history stuff can't be topped.

Right, so let me get this straight - the use of those words in that order reduces all credibility my opinion may have? Ok. I didn't realise you were the one who decided the credibility of posters on boards.ie. Thanks for letting me know, I'll bear that in mind in the future.

The irony of you saying what you said whilst deriding my post is not lost on me.

I did. I said she went through a hard time certainly but for me it's clear Anton acted as any other boss would and he certainly didn't bully her. So, how do you suggest he bullied her?

I'd love to find a podcast that you can dip in and out of, rather than the in depth ones that you need to follow the sorry or you miss something important.
Something like the Moncrieff show I suppose, with a mix of irreverent and serious topics every 5 minutes or so.
At work, I can't devote my full attention to a story line Serial-type cast..
    Any recommendations?

Radiolab usually has two types of podcast - a twenty minute one tackling a topic or an hour long episode that usually tackles three stories united under one theme. It's always a fascinating listen and would probably suit what you're after.

Hmmm I love a good series that I can get lost in so I'm probably not the best to ask!

Apart from the Charles Manson season you can dip in and out of You Must Remember This and definitely the Memory Palace is dippable.

The Beeb often has once off half an hour documentaries, there's a show called the Why Factor which is 15/20 minute standalone episodes.

The link below shows Radiolab podcasts and they all look very, very long. Is that the correct one?

Definitely not the lengths they say they are there. Check them on Soundcloud or Tunein. Usually anywhere between twenty minutes and just over an hour.

Finally we are rid of her...She is unbelievably bad...gets all giggly with the producer over the most inane of topics..As someone mentioned on the TFM big changes thread..it's hard to believe she "lectures" at the "TFM school of radio"...The future of radio in ireland is fecked if the "school of radio" is anything to go by.

I was listening to the producer of the documentary on Malachi Martin on Wednesday and it was unbelievably better by Turbridy, and I wouldn't be a fan of Tubbs at all.

Still no announcement of who will take over the afternoon slot from D&D?

Ian was saying that it will be announced soon and that they (Today FM staff I guess) don't know yet

Maybe I'm looking too much into this:

He said "I don't know who he is yet'

Try some podcasts made by stand-up comedians. They're usually more along the lines of casual listening. Personal favourite is probably Bill Burr. I'd have a listen to some best-ofs on YouTube first though (particularly the one's with himself and his wife Nia). Some episodes are all about whatever sport he's watching so it might put you off.

A great selection of music played by Paul today. Enjoy it, only 3 days left and it all changes :(

I missed the show yesterday but I really enjoyed the music and mad mix of topics today(and the absence of giggles also).
