I found if I go into my LBS and ask whats the best deal they could do if I bought a good few, I'd get them cheaper than the ebay link. In fact at regular price I don't think there is much of a difference from my LBS.

I went with these guys on Amazon, then used Parcel Motel to get them to Ireland.

I was in Cycle Super Store about a week ago and they were selling them for €2.50 each. They were in a glass jar on the counter where you pay.

Have a look on adverts. Got 30 of some guy on there a few years ago. Worked out at about a euro a pop!

Any Airsoft shop would sell them 90c/€1 each or 20 (packs) for 15/17e on average in most. Main Irish Airsoft had loads in when I was up there last week.

Silly question perhaps - what we are talking about here are the cartridges. What do you use to make them operable. Is there a dispenser / connector to actually allow inflation from the cartridges into the valve?

They don't sell the threaded ones which is what is needed for these inflator.

I bought 300 previously from https://www.co2cartridges.co.uk/mosa-co2-16g-threaded-case-of-200-40-x-packs-of-5 then advertised here at packs of ten, it took a little organisation, but we all got a bargain, I think the rate of the day was 85c each (pack of ten €8.50) if you were to guage interest this might be an option.
