Got it after a look-up. At least one of our contributors is going to be fascinated. Good question.

Yes, I thought a certain poster would have jumped on this one.

Wonder how he got his name. Perhaps he's now feeling distinctly uncomfortable.

Wow! Where did that come from? ;) Correct. All children of Zeus.

I thought Irishzeus would have got that one.

Well in fairness I just guessed from your comments, I had no idea, one of the others should have got it.

No. Correct answer is Paul von Hindenburg.

Three days gone and you all score a big duck, so here's another:

An Olympic champion went on to become which country's president?

Kim Jong Un? Became president of North Korea (Best Korea) after winning gold, silver and bronze medals and setting Olympic records in all events in the Olympic Summer Games 2012 (London), 2012 Paralympics (also London), Winter Olympics 2014 (Sochi), and Special Olympics 2015 (Los Angeles). Also inventor and founder of the Olympic Games.

Says so in his official state biography. Sorry for Googling. Probably against the spirit of the thing. Couldn't help meself.

Never even heard of him, so, barring using Wikipedia I'd never have got it. Interesting question though.

I must admit to a slight feeling of shame :p

Greek mythology is a personal interest but more-so when I was younger and my very limited knowledge comes more from popular fiction and other sources. Never had a chance to look at and study it properly and haven't looked at it at all in years, due to the arrivals of the true daughters of Zeus! :D I knew it rang a bell but couldn't place it.

Okay, sort of Christmas themed (it's not too late to still have Christmas questions, is it?):

    "Perdrix" is French for what?

The scientific name Perdrix perdrix is the Grey Partridge, so I'll take a stab at a Partridge.

That's it. "Perdrix" actually sounds quite a lot like "pear tree" which I thought was amusing and why I always remember that French word when so much else is forgotten.
