    And .....

Who wrote "and Christmas-morning bells Say 'Come!'"?

    Any takers on this one?

That's from the carol 'I saw three ships', I think, but I have no idea who wrote it.

As it has been hanging around for a while, I'll put it out of it's misery.

It's from a poem called Christmas by one of my favourite poets, John Batjeman

Yes, shades of primary school! I was not familiar with that one though.

Wow! Sometimes I even surprise myself... :)

Ok, my question (even though I'm sure Srameen will get it even before I've finished typing it!)

What animal has a Latin name that means "cave-dweller"?

A few days ago they had celeb-alumni from Kent and from Sussex universities. My missus and myself got enthusiastic and competitive as our old uni's came face to face.

    Sussex were trounced. :(

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Going to throw out a question to keep things going. One I heard yesterday that I didn't know.

Melania Trump will be the second non-American born First Lady. Who was the first?

I'm going to guess that Martha Washington, or one of the very early First Ladies was born in Britain and moved to America as a baby/child.

You're on the right track, but have the wrong lady.

Abigail? Arabella? Anyway I'm sure she signed her cheques Mrs. John Quincy Adams and she was known to the neighbours as Mrs. Adams.

As no-one else replied, I'll give it to you. Louisa was her first name :)

Thanks. By the same token I'll give a nice easy one.

Name the two presidents of Ireland whose spouses were born overseas.

    Happy Christmas to all.

Pretty sure Hyde's wife was English. No idea on the other one

I'll guess McEleese's spouse is Northern Irish, so technically British? That the question says "spouse" not "wife" makes me think it was either her or Robinson, and she's the likelier candidate.
