I actually liked wham and some of his stuff! I was just watching him on TOTP last night. Passed away peacefully in his home. Was he sick?

This story of his life is pretty hilarious

    He's only a bleedin' bender!

Plagued with rumours and speculation about his sexuality I feel George had many demons RIP

    Jeez...that's a shock, what a crazy year!! R.I.P:(

Ah, that's sad. Great singer/songwriter. Listened to him a lot when I was a teenager. Same age as my Mother too, scary.

He hadn't been in the public eye in a rather long time. Seemed as though he may have been in ill health. 53 is quite young. A shame.

What are you on about? He came out years ago.

You have no idea what he was like.

    Sad but not entirely unexpected.

    Fairly unexpected.

Ok I think we've got the last Xmas jokes already.

I can't fcuking believe it!! Yeah I know that's an overreaction in most people eyes but he was only 53. Unless later news declares otherwise and he turns out to have been in poor health for a while (like David Bowie) then it's quite a shock.

His heyday was a little before my time, but I remember really enjoying "Older" which is quite a feat considering I was a teenage metal fan at the time.

Sad news, but as said not entirely unexpected. He had not been in a good way for a long time. Funny the day he picked, here was me thinking how it had mostly gone without any big news.

Has there ever been a year like 2016?

    I'd say 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 were a lot worse.

I think we all expected a parting shot from the 2016 murder machine but not this. Only 53. Such a talent. Such a tragedy.

His heart was in the right place

I remember 15 or so years ago, when Capital radio were doing their "Help a London Child" weekend, George Micheal rang in, live and said that in honour of his mother he would match whatever they raised that weekend (usually around £1m) he may have had his issues and I wasn't a big fan of his music, but still an icon of his time and a decent human.

    RIP George.

Am shocked. He was a great star with some fantastic songs. So very young and so talented.

eh, what.......................he came out almost 20 years ago! I am pretty sure his demons didn't circulate around his sexuality and what many gossiped about it.

I'm just exhausted by this year's deaths, at this stage. I have no words
