I saw them 2 or 3 times at festivals in the 70's and early 80's, live they were brilliant. You had to see them live.

their live album back in the late '70's was great. Think its actually on youtube.
I saw them in Dalymount back then and later in the nec. They never claimed to be anything other than just good craic

Saw them a few times in the 80's - Manchester in 84, Live Aid and then supporting Queen. That Live Aid performance was probably close to their pinnacle in terms of popularity. We didn't know they would be kicking the whole show off with Rocking all Over the World, but they got it off to a tee on the day.

    RIP Rick

Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt dies aged 68....

    I don't believe....I really am gutted

I always say that if I could do change anything in my life... It would be to play rhythm guitar in a Status tribute band!!! I even had a name picked.... ...............Blue Status!!!!

People of the 70,s will know the reference to a well known 'real mens' aftershave!!

Thanks for the memories Rick.... Say hello to Lemmy for us!!

Saw them in the RDS in 1988

    Auld lad got free tickets

Great first time concert experience for a ten year old

Will never forget the noise of it

    RIP
Same here first gig I was ever at.Went with my uncle and his friends who were the real 70s rockers.
I remember walking to the gig from drimnagh and doing a pub crawl all the way to the RDS all the way down the canal..
As a 13 year old seeing Quo it was probably my most memorable gig even now.
    Rip Rick.

I saw them in 2010 in Castlebar and it was a great show. Was one of my Mam's favourite bands growing up so it was great to go with her and share that moment! I still love listening to them.

Saw them at the Marquee last year. Only time I've seen Quo perform live. Rick even gave me one of his guitar picks that night.
Through my dad I grew up listening to these guys, was probably one of youngest people there.

    RIP

    Great?

Very underrated band. They didn't seem to take themselves too seriously, but tracks like 'Living on an Island', 'Rock & Roll' & 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' show that they weren't the One Trick Pony that some think they are.

Twas sad news indeed. On the plus side, Rick was a mate of mine. One day he said to me that I was included in his will. I asked me what was he leaving me.

    His reply?

    "Whatever You Want" :)

Yes, Richie Malone. At the recent gig in the point, he came out at the end with a Dublin flag over his shoulders. That was the first and last time I'll ever cheer a Dublin flag;)
