I've just watched a blogger on snapchat and and it felt like it was an endless promotion for currys, Harvey Norman , meaghers , peter mark she said it was going in a gift guide video but felt very much like it was promotion too .
She was one of the last few I felt was honest and now it just seems like she's fallen for all the freebies .. there's a homeless shelter been taken over for the xmas of love to see these bloggers give away some of these free gifts to them to make their xmas a little bit more enjoyable

I'm finding some snappers really difficult to watch lately. It's the same cycle of brands and products and it's just too bloody heavy. All of them doing product demos like they're the only person to ever get the product, with no indication of ad/spon/freebie.

On you're unrelated comment re: charity, lots of bloggers have posted hauls that they're donating.

Well this bloggers whole day of snapchat was promoting something or other and she is one of the older women so I'd expect a little more from her
I've seen some of the bloggers donating and I think it's amazing although I've noticed the serial promoters who get tons of freebies are not donating any of there free expensive products
I'm so over all the #ads #spons and undeclared freebies and product placements and lack of follow up to the items flashed on snapchat
I've yet to see anyone say I received this for free and it's not worth the money
I've unfollowed so many because of this .
I miss the ones who actually blogged and did reviews making excuses like the have no time yet spend the entire day Snapchatting

Yeah I just saw that and I was a little saddened but she did have #ad on it towards the end. She's probably my favourite as she's just so down to earth, she'd the kind of person you'd love to go out on a girlie night with or stay in and chat over a bottle of wine. I was a wee bit put off that she had gotten that Style brush thing and only tried it out now, I've been dying to hear about it. At least she gave feedback that it did nothing for her but maybe it's not suitable for her hair which is fair enough and about the most negative comment you'll ever hear from bloggers (or that I've heard any way). Or maybe I'm just reading this wrong and they will only review the items they like?

I've also noticed where they'll get a load of samples and try them, and absolutely love them. Then you'll see them up on a big giveaway, which is great but it makes me more cynical about their rave reviews.

I've just gotten to the stage where I just assume that everything has been gifted or sponsored at this stage. I mainly just look to see what new stuff is out but I'm finding myself more and more flying through the snapchats just to get to the end. it also annoys me no end when they announce a winner (I never bother entering, so it's not out of jealousy) on snapchat but make you check instagram for the name.

Oh and I'm kind of sick of seeing the people I follow all review the same products at the same time, I think it's given me an irrational dislike for Meaghers (which I discovered is pronounced Mars and not Me-gars  Morto for me! :o) Also I am quite jealous they all got one of those Stylepros to clean their make up brushes! :D

Ah I think I unfollowed her.

The stylepro thing amused me greatly. First time round, it was pretty obvious that they were being sent out. But over the weekend I noticed it on one person's snaps, then another, then another, and then another. And boom, someone mentioned Meaghers had a restock. I don't know what's what anymore. And the repeated exposure actually makes me hate a product. I'll tie my brushes to a cordless drill and stick them in the sink :p

She used to be my favourite too there's just way too much promoting and zero content
I'll never shop in that meaghers (which) I pronounced the same as you 😂 I'm sick of seeing their names popping up on everyone's Snapchat it's gone beyond a joke
I'm more disheartened that the older bloggers have fallen into the same trap
i would have liked the clarasonic brush if I'm honest 😂

I've asked a few influencers on different platforms are they freebies/ads they're promoting as I value some of their opinions/interests and I'd like to know before I buy certain items. I've been blocked by all bar MUA/fitness/makeup brush who replied and said yes it was a freebie but she's still recommend. To be fair to her she still used the product i queried weeks after the PR mails went around. I've given up asking and unfollowed at this stage and assume all are freebies which is sad as some products aren't.

I miss the old days of real blogging with real opinions and none this PR crap.

That's crazy!! They blocked you for asking a question weather a product was sponsored or not! That's unbelievable. These people really don't like when they're questioned about something. Blocking followers for speaking up and asking questions is really pathetic.

The blogger who pretended to buy her mother a television is now promoting the style brush pro for meaghers pharmacy and no #ad at all disgraceful

This is exactly what I was saying in my last post, a few might put #ad and #spon on snaps and then there are the ones like this blogger who just cannot be arsed. The worst part of the whole situation is that we all know it's an ad but that doesn't give her a Carte Blanche to say feck it. It's really annoying

    Maybe she isn't being paid?

As someone else posted already. Some bloggers are paid and others aren't.

She is being paid she promotes the same thing at the exact same time as all the other bloggers who #ad she also gives the same 15% off code and puts the companies website on her snapchat she did about 10 snaps demonstrating the stylepro she's hardly doing it for free while other bloggers are being paid they are all directed to do the same thing

She's been doing this from the start while other bloggers have started using #ad and #spon she just still ignores it how is she getting away with it

How do you know? Read back on the thread. Some people are given money, others are just given the products. She might be happy to just get the product.

Well nobody knows because she's not honest about it. I think everyone's pretty certain she didn't buy it, which is what she led her followers to believe

Why would she do it for free when she'd know others are being paid? New Jeans blogger did the full demo with no #ad too, do you honestly think a blogger with her profile is doing it for free if bloggers with considerably lower profiles are being paid? No # doesn't automatically mean they are not being paid.

I know it doesn't mean she's not being paid but at the same time you really don't know 100% for certain that she is being paid.

Well if they had a history of being transparent and upfront there would be no doubt in people's minds but that's not the case.

To play devil's advocate (again!): I did a YouTube video on the StylPro brush cleaner. I wasn't paid, although Preen (who also stock it) gave it to me for free.

There's no way of knowing really if people are being paid or not – like, I've been sent items by brands with press releases saying "please tweet about this using the hashtag" and then I'll see other people tweeting about it using #ad, which makes me think (a) they obviously paid some people to promote it and (b) there's no way I'm posting about it for free now! But maybe someone less bratty than me would post about it anyway, even knowing others are getting paid? There's no real way of knowing.

It's no coincidence that she's promoting the same products the same way and the same time as the other bloggers who are being paid and the fact that for example meaghers is inviting her to everything and tweeting about her

This particular blogger isn't known for actually disclosing anything she does anyway so naturally we assume that she's been paid. If I see a video/Snapchat/blog post from you and you don't disclose something, I assume that you weren't paid because unlike this blogger, you are forthcoming with your followers.
So I assume in this case she was paid because she doesn't disclose regardless

Which only serves to bring me back to my point above. I wouldn't be second guessing whether you were being paid because you have a history of disclosure. The bloggers being referred to above re. The stylepro on the other hand have a history of the opposite. So while there is no way of knowing, this leaves these people open to suspicion, maybe completely unfairly, because people feel they are untrustworthy when it comes to product reviews.

I saw the price list of a very well known make up and everything these days blogger recently and I was shocked. There were a few packages, but the biggest one was €4.5k ex vat for a mention on FB, instragram, snap chat and onthe blog. Nice money if you can get it. This particular blogger is getting married next year so will be interesting to see what freebies she gets for it

Only joining this after weeks of constantly reading all threads and never making the effort to contribute so correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think I'm able to post pictures up no this? But on this particular bloggers Instagram somebody asked her straight out was the stylepro post sponsored and she replied and said that it wasn't. Fair play to her for actually replying and not just deleting the comment or blocking the person asking, as many others have!

However, I will say that the cinema trip last night along with the perfume giveaway are both ads yet are only hashtagged #sp on instagram. Yet, she talked about both on snapchat yet no hashtag was used.

Is this right or wrong? Is there a compliance when being paid to only have to declare it being an ad on one particular social media platform or does it have to be across them all?

While i certainly think that it should be declared among them all I'm just asking out of curiosity to see is there anything I've missed! :)

This girl got a few items off currys one was a television wrapped with a big bow the same week bloggers got the same gifts wrapped and had #ad the girl I'm referring to made the whole snap about how she got her mother this television to say thanks she didn't hashtag Nor did she disclose she was sent the item she completely made out like she bought it
I ordered from currys for xmas too and I never got my item wrapped with a big bow that's very misleading and what it does is make people question other bloggers integrity it's not fair on people like you who are so open and honest .. she's known for not being transparent she should be reported and so should the companies she works with

The same girl has the perfume that everyone has up today as 'I treated myself' and a little #sp at the bottom on Instagram.
