Hyundai Santa Fe MK I Diesel

    Does anyone know if the MK 1 Santa Fe Diesel was ONLY sold in Ireland with the 2.0 Common Rail engine - CRDi - or was the older designed 2.0TD available up to early 2003?

    I always thought they were all common rail?
    UK ones may have been badged CRTD which AFAIK is the same thing. There were 112 and 125bhp versions

    Hello colm_mcm, I thought they were too. Was looking at a 2002 Santa and mentioned to the salesman that if I bought it I could always put a chip tuning box on it to boost its 111BHP. He said that wouldn't be possible as it wasn't a CRDi engine. On the back door it was badged 2.0TD. Wouldn't really have been suitable anyway as it didn't have Low Ratio box, but I still always thought they were all Common Rail design from day 1. Was absolute mint condition though.
