Is there a way of checking if someone is registered for parkrun? I've convinced someone to run Christmas eve parkrun with me but I don't know has she registered for parkrun before.

Is that to search by parkrun?

Edit: just checked one of her local one's and can see that it will show all athletes with that surname.

Cheers she's not registered, I'll register her now and print off her barcode and collect her Sat morning on my way and she'll have no excuse - mwah ha ha....

No junior parkrun on Christmas Day at Albert College Park. Kids will be busy :D

Back on New Year's Day at the later than usual time of 10:30... great way to start the year.

Are there many locations around Dublin/Kildare/Wicklow area doing a parkrun on 26th or 27th? Am checking the FB pages of all locations but thought this might throw up some results quicker

I'm likely to be doing Shanganagh on Christmas eve with my 5ft tall 9 year old son. Say hello if you see a bald guy who looks a bit like this:

Athlone parkrun won't be on tomorrow Christmas Eve or New Years Eve due to the grounds being closed.

Oranmore Parkrun (Galway) is going ahead on Christmas Eve. They have changed the route this week- check their Facebook page for info.

Some amount of people down at the parkrun this morning, really enjoyed it. Forgot my Santa hat though!

My time doesn't show up on the results either :(

Had a spot of parkrun tourism in cabinteely this morning. Very welcoming out there. The course is challenging enough . Really enjoyed it . Thanks to all involved over there.

I gave Poppintree a go this morning. Windy and cold but a very friendly bunch running it. Lead bike and markers a nice touch too.

Good turn out in Ballina this morning, the poor volunteers had to go off and clear a tree off the trail before we could run, and of course it was sleety and windy whilst they were doing it. I haven't done any running for 3 weeks, so not surprised I didn't beat my PB, but I didn't come last either, which is always a bonus :D

Fair play and thanks to all the volunteers for giving up their Christmas Eve morning to allow us all to run.

21.45 in Glengarriff, first run since hernia op 6 weeks ago...and put on over a pound for each week during that time. Tough route...but want to bring that down to below 20 in 5 or 6 weeks. Starting to get back into shape on Christmas Eve might not be easy...Carrauntoohil tomorrow so no drink today...

Did Ardgillan for the first time in a few months on Christmas Eve. Third parkrun back since injury.

And it's a new route. Not content with half the elevation of the estate, they went the full hog and started and finished at the very top, higher than the top car park even! Down right down to the tracks and back up.

I did well to keep it under 30 mins. In absolute ribbons trying to come back up that hill!

    Back to Donabate methinks....

It was a once off reprisal of the original route. Only about a mile of a climb at the end, do you only good. sick I couldn't make it

I had a trip to Dublin over Christmas, and took in Ardgillan old course on Saturday and Waterstown on Sunday.  The finish at Ardgillan didn't seem quite as bad as I feared, but I was expecting it to be really horrible, especially after going downhill for about 5 minutes at the start, thinking that I have to come back up all that later.  Must have been good training though because the 'dreaded' hill at the end of Waterstown seemed to be over in no time on Sunday!  A big thank you to all the volunteers out over Christmas, especially at Waterstown - the only parkrun in Dublin on Christmas Day.

This weekend the plan is to do 3 runs in the south-west, so it's Castlehaven and Clonakilty on New Year's Day; any suggestions for New Year's Eve?  I see Glengarriff are having their anniversary and it's Tralee's 100th run.

Likely a scanning error. Email your details and approx finish time and I'm sure they can sort it out. Especially if you offer to volunteer at the same time. ;)

I don't think I will go back to donabate until they get rid of them turns. Once I stop like that I find it very hard to get my rhythm again. Was at ardgillan too albeit watching (injury). It's the hill through the woods that gets to people the most.

Was thinking of doing Donabate at some stage - thanks for heads up Shaungoater.

Castletown has changed their route - details on the facebook page. So it's an entire double lap now, is that right? Have never enjoyed runs like that but they have usually been longer ones (10 miles) so maybe for a 5k won't be as much of an issue.

Castletown was always a two lap course. The course now is the original route they started with. For the last while it has been a course made up of a km straight 2 small laps and a km straight to the finish

The Donabate stop at least is big enough to take it in a running orbit.

The one in tralee is in a tight lane way so most people come to a stop and put their hand on the cone as they walk around it.

Yeah sorry that's what I meant by 'entire two lap' - didn't word it well but it made sense in my head. It's a double lap of the very same thing rather than the km down, double lap around the water and then doing the second km back up.

That is the only route I've ever done in castletown as I'm new to parkrun so didn't know it was the original route.

Anyone got an opinion on whether it's easier or more difficult? Will find out soon enough anyway I suppose :)

Bit of tourism this morning - Conwy Parkrun in north Wales for me. We're breaking the journey back to London in Colwyn Bay and this was the closest one. Got around in 27 ish.

So finally got my sub 30 in cabinteely this morning, helped in part by Olwyn and her encouragement! So since I started parkrun in August I've managed to knock 4:26 off my original run, great way to finish the year.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers, it's such a great organisation. Volunteering next week so anyone thinking about starting it for the new year, do!

Well done, thats brilliant. Do you have another new target to go for?

I was gutted today, I had a mishap with my alarm clock, it didn't go off. I woke up at 8.55 which is too late to get to my local park run. I had planned it all and was determined to also break the 30 minute mark, really, really disappointed not to get the run in. Now if anyone had said that to me back in August I would have thought they were mad.
