Issue with kitchen sink mixer tap

    Hi. The left hand (cold water) kitchen sink mixer tap is twisting full circle (see attachment for tap type). One short turn stops the water flow but it continues turn and switches it on again. Just wondering if I'll need a plumber to repair as I'm not good at DIY:(

    Thanks for the reply. I can close the stop cock valve but just wondering if it's easy enough to take apart the assembly "coating on the moving parts., especially the reverse spiral and barell that open and close the tap." ... Rocket science or a no-brainer?
    Maybe easier to start trying and replace like with like?

    Not too difficult. Give it a go. If its badly damaged, you might be better to bring the internal piece to a plumbing shop (Woodies maybe) and get a new part. A lot easier than replacing whole tap.

    Over the Christmas break I successfully replaced the kitchen sink tap and discovered a leak (slight drip) from the waste trap and replaced the fittings. The leak disappeared for a while but after vigorous flushing of the tap the leak is back again. It seems to be coming from the copper piping under the waste trap (see pic attached),
    I was really happy with my undiscovered plumbing skills but I'm now so disappointed that any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
