Hi. Please don't think this is a flash Harry post. Just wondering if anyone has experience or knows anything about hiring a helicopter to get in and out of Slane from Dublin (or indeed anywhere around there)?

Would it reasonable to share the costs with friends?

You're probably looking at the guts of €3k base cost for a four-person helicopter, plus any additional costs like permits or whatever. Double the price if you want to be picked up and flown home again.

I doubt that you will be able to get one for the day but all the main companies will be running shuttle services to & from slane. They land & take off every 30 seconds or so

if it's for a mass event, forget about it, typically there would be a minimum 2nm restricted area around the place, meaning the ones that can go in would need a blessing from IAA

Other than that it's about 450 eur an hour for a Robinson R44, Bell 20X will set you back some 600 to 800, AW109 goes at around 1500 and Aw139 in a VIP config will be touching close to 3k. You will also be responsible for re-positioning costs and downtime if there is any

If you'd advise us on your exact itinerary we could probably give you a rough idea on how much it would actually cost
