Trump voter lost her home to new Treasury secretary

When Donald Trump named his Treasury secretary, Teena Colebrook felt her heart sink.

She had voted for the president-elect on the belief that he would knock the moneyed elites from their perch in Washington, D.C. And she knew Trump's pick for Treasury_Steven Mnuchin_all too well.

Mnunchin by the way has very close ties to Wall Street and personal dealings with George Soros

So much for draining that swamp, eh Trumpets? Like the dumb bitch in the article, you's played yourselves!

What the chap is saying is that the election is over, Trump has won, and it is time for the losers to go back into their caves.

As I said already, maybe they will vote next time.

And as I already said previously, if you don't like people criticising or laughing at 'your guy' then maybe you should find a safe space (also known as 'echo chambers) where people don't do that.

But until then, tough titties. Deal with it. If that upsets you you're gonna have a long 4 years ahead (if he gets that far).
The fact he won doesn't change a thing about that, unless you somehow feel that the great leader is beyond reproach. Sounds awfully dictatorial though.

Oh its only just beginning, after Jan 19th it'll really begin. He's already shaping up to be the least popular president in US history.

Get ready for a fun four years.

The wall will be built he claims.
Consistent on foreign policy and how the wars were bad for America.
Obamacare will be repealed and replaced.

He said he heard complaints that he appointed a billionaire - Wilbur Ross to commerce, he said he knows how to make money, and he could have appointed someone who didn't know how to make money but no one would have wanted that.

Claimed people were pouring into the US from the middle east and that this is not good for the US as he said they don't want the US to be like France and Germany where they have big problems.

He attacked the media and laughed at them about how they at one time claimed Texas was in play.

Wow, even took the opportunity to get off on the right foot with longtime allies France and Germany. (I know, the latter is late to the game).

Seriously, this is the President? Getting a fix from his sheeple, while ignoring those pesky intelligence briefings, he's got people for that.

    Been thinking about Stevie Munchie...
Of all the ex-Goldman Sachs workers, Trump could have picked better, but he could have picked a lot worse, too.

(here come the cries of mental gymnastics...)

George Soros is on a level of intelligence that makes people like Wibbs look as though they pick their noses with electric drills. Let alone plebs like us...
You don't get within a light year of Soros unless you're good enough for him. He doesn't do "yeah, let's see how you go", nor do his associates. So ten or so years ago Mnuchin starts working for him and in less than two months he's gone. Seems like he didn't like what he saw, struck a backing deal and left.

Either way, he was the financial chair of Trumps campaign which won over Hillary's at a half of the cost. There are far more inefficient people you could plonk in the treasury, and if I recall, he's said in the past, he wanted to see the federal reserve reigned in?

    8 , hopefully.

If the Democrats don't get the Sanders voters on board, and they probably either stayed at home or voted for Johnson, they will not be winning anything. They also need to produce something other than insults because that's what got us President Trump.

Its a bit early to speculate on how badly trump is going to screw up. Judging by his current actions its going to be epic though.

Get over it, you don't always get what you want. ;)

Judging by the previous post that, in two sentences, managed to get "failing New York Times" and...eh, two other obvious buzzphrases, I'm not so sure we don't have a stealth Trump in here :D

He can't resist people talking about him after all.

He has kept a thousand jobs in America and he isn't even President yet. He has been doing fine.

Some people still fighting the election, he is the new President. Get over it already, you don't always get what you want. I have experience of that in politics in this country.

It's amazing to see their utter hatred and lack of respect for democracy.
The mask has fairly slipped hasn't it.
You'd think they'd take the opportunity to work out why so many ordinary people voted for someone as poor as Trump, why they had no other choice, and why they were so sick of the spin they were being peddled. Instead they just want to rant hysterically.

    but muh freedom of speech

Suck it up, people will talk about him and mock him for how ever long he is president.

I don't know why this is all of a sudden a problem for you, did you hate it when they did it for Bush ?

Here's a newsflash: An integral part of democracy (something you claim that people who dislike Trump hate) is forming dissenting opinions to those in charge. If you don't allow that then you're a fascist.

I'm afraid you are the one that is going to have to suck up democracy.
I'm not the fascist whining hysterically about a democratic result, and I don't like Bush or Trump, but I'm very glad Trump got elected and ordinary people can see through the spin and lies that's been even worse than Trumps. It's just a pity Trump was their only option, and he was.

The only problem with that claim is that nobody here is whining about the result. Everybody knows he got elected.

And now he'll be the butt of jokes for years to come, and all you can do about that is get worked up about it and demand people to just 'accept democracy' :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,078 ✭✭✭HellSquirrel

Uh, most of the whining is from the Trump supporters bitching that the evil lefties aren't bowing to them and crying.

Most of us in here are debating the direction things are going since. Like...lie if you want, but do try to keep up.

I'm not the one getting worked up. Trump, and even more importantly, democracy, won.
    The joke is on you.

Yep, unfortunately for them lése majesté isn't on any statute books in the USA. :pac:

You seem to think people have a problem with that and are - along with others here - attempting to mine some kind of smug self satisfaction out of it in a final act of desperation to stave off "the bad fee fees".

That bit in bold is otherwise known as "throwing a wobbly", and boy am I going to enjoy the next few years of wobblies once he gets in.
    Wobblies from the extreme left.
    Wobblies from the extreme right.
Wobblies from the Storm front crowd.
    Wobblies from the Liberal crowd.
    Going to be great :D

If 'no you!' is all you've got then I guesss we're done here :)

Anyhow, enjoy the next 4 years if he gets that far, I'm sure it'll be a right laugh.

That's exactly what it is though. Some on here can't seem to understand that everyone accepts the result of the election, but that doesn't mean all of a sudden they have to bend over for Trump.

Hell, from my experience Irish people love nothing more than bitching about their democratically elected government, so it's only fair if people do it about other governments, right ? ;)

That said, the 4 coming years will indeed be quite spectacular I think with plenty of jokes, outbursts, whining,...
    Strap in ;)

Ironically that's exactly why he got elected, and as democracy proved, the ordinary people of the USA are well able to see through that spin for what it is.

So thanks for helping so soon to achieve Trump a second term.

That direction includes the current recount I presume ? After day one Hillary has gained one vote. Well done to her.
