Had a problem using it in a Rite-Aid drug store in the US. May have been an anomaly, but worth making note of.

Tried to top up my luas card with the revolut card. The money was taking from my card but didn't top up the luas card. Money was refunded back to my revolut card 10 days later. Is this the norm or do I need to change a setting on the app?

    TIA

Did you top up via the NFC leap card app or the Leap website?

Some more detail on why Revolut withdrew the cards from users outside of Europe, looks like they are getting their own licence

    http://uk.businessinsider.com/fintech-revolut-issuing-new-cards-delay-europe-international-waiting-list-paysafe-2016-11
"We're hoping to get the licence this week," Storonsky told Business Insider. "We just didn't want to accept new customers on our [current] issuing bank licence because then it will be quite costly to transfer them."

Once Revolut receives its MasterCard issuing licence it will start issuing cards again. For now, Revolut is putting customers on a recently set up waiting list that has about 40,000 people on it.

Is it possible for me to topup a revolut card using a Three Money Prepaid card?
Their FAQ says "You can top-up your Revolut account instantly with a debit or credit card (MasterCard or Visa) on the app" but I'm not sure if it applies to the Three card too? I tried searching this thread but people say Three a lot!

Hi, I think it should be possible, I have successfully topped up with a prepaid card once (wanted to take a balance off the card to avoid being charged a monthly fee!)

I suppose there is a risk that you may be charged the 1% Credit Card Fee by Revolut, depending on how the prepaid card is classified, or it may not work at all, their FAQ says some cards aren't supported.

Why not try it and let us know?

Just stick in the address of a random hotel in Canada. It worked for me for the Xbox store so I presume it would work for Playstation too.

Hi all quick query. My Revolut card is loaded in stg. I was using it to pay for lunch in Ireland and the cashier asked me did I want to pay in euros and stg. What should I have selected. I know if your using a debit card or credit card your always advised to pay in the local currency. Is it the same with the Revolut card

Thanks. Just scrutinised the rates there. Terminal co version rate was .91 Revolut was .84 plus the terminal charged me 3% commission. So in the end I ended up paying an extra 2£ not a lot but better in my pocket than theirs.

Yip. Will be paying in local currency from now on

I was going up to the North of Ireland last week. I asked here and was advised to pay in Euro. Getting confusing now as what is the best thing to do.

yeah i always loaded in euro and exchanged on the app to sterling and paid like that, why is it advised to keep money in euros?

Because it doesn't matter what currency its in, as long as any currency conversion is carried out by Revolut.

No, the advice here has always been to pay in the local currency. Otherwise, what's the point in using Revolut?

You load the card in euro (from a euro bank account) and can then choose either to convert funds to sterling in the app (to lock in the exchange-rate at that point in time) or leave it all in euro.

The Revolut rates are a little worse at weekends so it can make sense to convert funds in advance if you're going to be using the card over the weekend.

That's not the question you asked and not the answer you were given.

According to Revolut my cash withdrawals at a BOI ATM are in fact classified as United States and for American Airlines - needs a bit off work!

Have those withdraws counted against your fair usage AMT limit?
