The weird thing about their system is your points devalue over time, yeah you could have given away a €60 game at the time but a year later it could be worth nothing on points at all.

Almost all of the games I giveaway are indies I get from bundles and I have no intention of playing

Basically the game devalues and goes on sale and they don't keep track of who gave what when so your game will always be worth the lowest points it was ever available for.

Think I might start putting level restrictions on all my future giveaways. Dont like the thought of people leeching free games without giving anything in return. I suppose there'll always be those kind of people who'll take the piss when it comes to stuff like this.

Strange system alright. I gave away a few games could be over 18 months ago now and I'm at the bog standard entry level. Only ever won one game .

It's a load of horse****, and their levelling system is one of the reasons I don't gift games using them much anymore.

I've gifted fifteen games in my time, usually extra copies or leftovers. Still level 1.

15 games, what do you expect like? I think I've given away 12 or 13 games in single giveaways.

Ideally games would go down in value slowly but they have to degenerate. If I gave away a 100 point game in 2008 I'd hardly expect it to be the same as The Witcher 3 or Skyrim SE now?

It should stay the same worth as when the person gave it imo. Both people gave the same amount, just at different times, at least have it degenerate more slowly, like you suggest, pc games plummet in sales.

But they mightn't have given the same. Slow degeneration is what I'd say but that's probably pretty hard to track.

If it stayed the same eventually everyone would reach level 10, there has to be some incentive to continually give games away if you want to keep your level up
