I read this as "unless he was peeing over the stall at you, you should really get over it"
and I agree with either version.

There are far right & fascist movements across Europe and many LGBTs especially Transgenders do a lot of their socialising online. Anyway, I know well those memes are almost always used in a transphobic context.

You forgot the Q in LGBTQ.

It is absolutely incredible that you're acting like one of the most targeted minorities out there somehow has "special protections", and bend over backwards for people like you that have no regards for their lives or well-being.

People's "views" shouldn't come before basic human rights. People are free to have whatever views they wish, but giving unfounded prejudice greater position in jurisprudence is the very basis for how discrimination is encoded in law. Far too many people seem to think that the right to enact conservative, fascist laws is somehow common sense and not a terrifying concept.

Non-transgender people are not a group that's vulnerable to violence on the basis of them not being transgender. You talk about "growing some balls", obviously intended in of itself to be a hateful remark towards transgenders, but you are elevating irrational feelings that are not based in fact or statistics above the safety of transgender people, as well as the large number of those who aren't easily recognisable as one gender or the other who are affected by these policies.

Trans people shouldn't have to do anything. They are not the group doing anything wrong here, and to blame them for the immense hatred and discrimination aimed at them over the last year, legal or otherwise is delusional and hateful in of itself.

I have lived and worked in so many different towns and cities in 3 different countries for nearly 40 years and I am yet to meet a transgender person. I don't care about their issues. I have my own. I'm sick of ****ing hearing about the issues of a ****ing tiny, miniscule group who (to me) appear to be mentally fragile and are attempting to blame all and sundry around them for choices they have made. I find if pathetic and I am fully entitled to say so.

This is how that idiot trump got elected. Normal (and I mean that in the historical, thousands of years of things working sense) people are sick to the back ****ing teeth of minorities problems shouting over the real issues in the world. While gays are fighting to get married and trans are fighting to piss in a different pot and blacks are screaming about police shooting them and students are crying about triggers and aaaaarrrgfgghhhh!

The majority are worrying about the economy, the brewing war, the cure for cancer, the important, day to day **** that nobody seems to be able to talk about without some special interest blowup getting in the way.

Really, give it a ****ing rest will you?

I don't understand. I thought ''Queer'' is another term for gay OR lesbian, and it's been reclaimed as a positive word.

So it's gay ladies, gay men, bi, transgender, gay again.
And whatever the I and A stand for.

The a is asexual. I is intersex. Not sure what that means. Sounds like a bad pick up line.

    Are you intersex?

A can also mean ''ally'', that was the cause of my confusion. So apparently Queer means: An umbrella term sometimes used by LGBTQA people to refer to the entire LGBT community. 2) An alternative that some people use to "queer" the idea of the labels and categories such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, etc. Similar to the concept of genderqueer.

I suppose Queer is handy if you want to be vague.

I've known about 7. And it's not that they were all transitioned. They were all transitioning when I met them or I know them already.

This isn't a point about transgender rights, I just find it surprising that you don't know one. Then again I guess a lot of trans people will move to cities etc. It happens a lot with gay people too. A lot of gay people move from rural areas to live somewhere a bit more cosmopolitan.

I know 3 transgender people. All on waiting list for surgery in the U.K. One has started the process with hormone treatment. They've all been transvestite for years.

You know seven transgendered people? In my world, that would be extremely unusual. Hope you treat them like you would any other human being.

Great, so the suggestion that people should actually care about a group of vulnerable people is just "political correctness" and people are being celebrated for saying they literally don't give a **** about them. When people speak up in impassioned defend of a disadvantaged group, it's political correctness gone mad, social justice warriors, all that. Someone can outright say "I am a terrible, amoral human being who must rely on a boogeyman to justify my fascist viewpoint". Is it really that much of a "Godwin's law" to draw comparisons with the Trump Phenomenon here?

I mean, I'm pretty sure they know you don't care about them. If people did care, they might not die all the time. But whatever, convince yourself that it's okay to treat a group of people as subhuman as long as they're "small" enough to not apparently matter, and that there aren't much larger groups you don't give similar treatment to.

I find it pretty funny that people who most people "don't give a **** about" who are regularly subjected to humiliation and inhumane treatment are regarded as fragile, whereas incredibly sheltered and uneducated people who've never had to grow a thick skin towards that level of abuse act like they're experts at the world at large. All you information and views are drip-fed to you, including the one that tells you that other, compassionate human beings are somehow brainwashed.

I honestly believe this is one of the most hateful and deeply, truly evil views a human being can take. You are blaming a group for their own oppression when it was self centred entitled white men like you that voted in Trump. This is no different than blaming the victim of any other tragedy. This is the sort of thing that has been used to justify genocide in the past. It is an appeal to consequences - consequences people like you created. When you say "people" here, you are meaning specifically white and straight people people who are not part of any minority.

I have transgender and all sorts of friends living in america and they are terrified. Many of them would have been terrified even if Hillary was elected, due to her foreign policy. You will never know this sort of fear. How can you say it's a matter of thin skin when you've never probably been oppressed in your life?

You are saying you do not care about the issues of minorities. That means you only care about the issues of whites, for example. This is by definition white supremacy. It is the normalisation of white supremacy that led to the election of Trump. People whining that they're being censored so loud that it became the primary discourse. The lives of other human beings are not a "special interest". Is transgenders were such a tiny interest group then why would all this so matter? You don't blame the people who make a fuss - you blame the victim, since you hate them and want them to die. And I'm not putting words in your mouth. Your reaction to trans(and black) people dying was that you didn't care and were sick of hearing about it. You wish for them to continue dying, because your own comfort matters to you more than another human's life.

Also - I would punch you if you said this in person to one of my transgender friends, angry Muslim stereotypes be damned. The problem is with the lack of consequences for people like you. You can act like you're persecuted but yet no matter how you act nothing gets back at you. Meanwhile you can't exist as certain minority groups without receiving a certain level of harassment or violence.

I was abducted from my mother at 2 years of age by a violent father who moved me to a new town every year so social services wouldn't notice the black eyes, the broken bones, the broken spirit. I was in so many schools I lost count. I was bullied as the new boy in every one. I was afraid of my own shadow and spent more time in plaster and in hospitals than I did playing.

When he made me live in the unconverted attic when I was 10 or 11 in the winter in the Scottish highlands I cried with the cold for months.

Social services came then, when nobody had seen me for some time. I was finally taken into care. I was sexually abused there. Got my back door well kicked in. When I found my mother at 14 I thought it was all over but at 15 when she set about me with a table leg I left home for good.

I slept on the streets for a long time, I've been pissed on, robbed and beaten and I ended up a drug addict that spent years in prison.

Talk to me about pain, abuse, poor me. I'm special. **** off.

I was getting raped when I was 11.
    .
I'll say this to you, pick your fights and understand who you are talking to. When you go around making assumptions about people it can backfire in your face

As for the punching bit. I'm guessing your wrists are feeling a little bit limper right now and you're thinking twice? I'm pretty sure I would send you running to your mama crying. I'm not that 11 year old boy anymore and I learnbed a lot on the streets and in jail.

And here is some breaking news. I'm bi. I prefer women but sometimes I like the cock.
Now go fit that into your stereotyping grinder and come back to me.

    Ok?

Do you really think any of that excuses your utter flagrant disregard for the rights & issues of others?

It just makes it more shameful, because you should know better. Having one sort of negative experience doesn't mean you understand the experiences of everyone else. Do you not realise that all of these things can happen to the "Snowflakes" you hate so much? Sexual abuse isn't even "noteworthy" to a lot of transgender people. It's just a fact of life for them. Same with drug addiction. You have no idea what some of my trans friends have been through. But you have literally said you do not care about them. Past being vaguely bisexual(I am not exactly straight either, and can you imagine that and being Muslim???) and perhaps experience with drug mis-use, you are not part of a group that experiences oppression at the institutional level, so don't pretend to understand it.

Not to mention: How do I know any of that is true? And why should I care about it? If you don't care about transgender people(and probably even less about Muslims like me) why should I care about you? How would you like it if I said you deserved to be beaten, or raped? And yet it's acceptable for fascists to be in the white house, because of the minorities most affected by it. Unacceptable. There's nothing worse than a man who believes himself to have "pulled himself up by the bootstraps" and gotten over a dark place, failing to realise the lack of support for others not so lucky to do so. Everyone else is to blame for their suffering. Your experience is the only one that matters.

Many gay(though almost exclusively white gay men) voted for Trump and even some Latinos(though English-language first ones). At the end of the day the typical conservative/right wing viewpoint is "I have my mine, everyone else can get lost." You've no idea what I've been through, or what the typical transgender goes through. Typical white man's ego, assuming he's the only one that has troubles.

You are not trans, you are not black. So none of this excuses your attitude towards people who are not like you.

I am sure I will now be called insensitive when making a point of pride of being insensitive towards transgenders or black americans is normal practice in this thread. What a ridiculous circus. I've very little sympathy for bigots regardless of what they've been through.
