Boiler Thermostat on Firbird Boiler

Apologies if this has been asked, but what do people set this thermostat on the boiler to? I only have a simple timer switch in the house with no internal thermostat.

Will it burn less/more oil if turned down/up? Also will it take longer to heat the rads if turned down? Thanks in advance

Edit: I now realise that this controls the water temp in the rads but my original question stands, what do people set theirs to?

About 3/4 way to high this weather. If too low rads will not get hot enough to heat the rooms they were designed for.
