What's people's experience of crucial SSDs? I see there's a 750GB one on sale on amazon at the moment for around £105. Had my eye on a 250gb 850 evo for my build but the crucial is only £15 more with over double the storage....

Have had a 500gb one as my games drive for the last year. No issues at all here.

That one's in my cart too, can't bring myself to buy as it's not something I need right now, but a higher capacity ssd for storage has been the plan since I built this PC 2 years ago

Similar boat except I already have two SSDs in this machine. 1.5GB of SSDs seems like overkill even if I want it. :s

I've one sitting in my cart, I'll have 1.5gb-ish if I do get it, split across 4 SSDs

Similar enough - my original SSD went into my laptop when I ran low on spare sata connections.

    haha, 1.5 TB. :P

Damn it. I can juggle SI units all day in my head but for some reason when it comes to hard drives I always manage to say GB instead of TB.

(though I used to have a desktop with 1.5gb of disk space. No idea how the hell that seemed like loads of space back in the day)

Recycling centres, yes but they don't sell on. Because of the Wee charges, its more cost efficient to actually recycled and reclaim the electronics.

Actions/Surplus. Sure, but they usually sell in large lots when they come up. Mainly liquidation or repo.

Best bet for single units is donedeal/adverts.

So as always, lots of hype over black Friday and pretty much feck all decent deals on pc platform.
I did manage to get some cheap ps4 games though. I wonder if anyone will learn from this: black Friday should not be a reason to hold off on buying oc parts.

I think the only decent deal I sow was 750GB SSD on amazon for 105£.

Looking at 100Hz+ 1080p monitors and just wondering if you lads had any suggestions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,924 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

So lads, remember I asked you about board games for my sisters family? I was in town to get misses ShadowHearth phone fixed as she droped the thing in toilet on night out... It was not far from that place "Gathering".
Went in and talked to fella. He is really nice and friendly and it was so refreshing to nerd out with someone. Don't have proper nerd friends like me in irl ( insert sad music). Went through some board games with him amd picked up this. Pretty sure it was mentioned here and all about the game just sounded amazing.

Cherry on the top is that they do game night on Wed and sat nights. I am more then welcome to pop in and at least have a look. Misses won't be impressed, but **** that, I am going to go on one of the days off lol.

I found Cards Against Humanity very... dumb.

It's only funny if your friends are funny.
    Or very, very drunk.

Thats the point of it :pac:

I played it already and it was great crack. Main thing is - not over play it, as then it repeats itself.

Looks like were going to get a proper look at Zen on the 13th. Not sure if ill be about to watch the stream, probably just read the summary the following day. Thought it was gonna drift into the new year before we got a proper look.

I read that two nights ago on Google Now.

I will watch it even though I am not looking to build a new system. If the leaks are true on performance and cost then we have something very good on hand. Hopefully they are true and Intel has to rethink their pricing. Both Nvidia and Intel have gone over the top lately with prices.

This might also link into seeing the Vega GPU's earlier than expected too.
