Hi, I'm replacing an oven, the current setup is the oven connects directly to the mains and the hob connect directly to the oven.

    The mains wires are:
    Red - (Live)
    Black -(Neutral)
    Bare -(Ground)

    No problems there.

    The hob wire colurs are:
    Black
    Green and yellow (Ground)
    Blue

Confusion is between the black and blue - prety sure the black is live and blue is neutral?

    Thanks

Sounds obvious but you should read the manual. Sometimes you need to bridge terminals in the hob to get all the hot plates to work. They often supply a metal plate for this purpose in the bag of goodies. Some hobs are designed to accommodate multiple phases.

If you're not 100% sure that you're doing it safely, or that the wiring is up to the job of powering th new job, an electrician should be called.
