Hi guys, help me! I'm stuck!
I viewed an Audi A3 with high mileage 201km 2011 1.6 diesel.. Looks great it's in good nick, had a mechanic check it and they said they can't see anything wrong with it.. Is it ok to buy with such high mileage or what are your thoughts? Help me, please thank you :)

What kind of mileage do you do? Does the price reflect the miles?

If it's been well maintained, it could do that mileage again handy enough.

The mileage is above average though and it will really kill the resale value when you are finished with it so make sure it's priced accordingly.

    I would do around 10 to 12k a year?

Buy a petrol. You're asking for trouble with that.

    What's your budget?

Petrol for you. You'll be constantly in the garage with it doing those low miles.

I wouldn't worry too much, there are ways around it if you take the time. A good blast at high revs once a week for an hour will prevent a lot of problems. Is it mainly short journeys or have you an occasional long drive?

Find out if and when the clutch and flywheel were replaced. They inevitably wear on most modern diesels especially as the miles clock up. Would be one less bill to be concerned about in the short term if they were already replaced recently.

Price needs to reflect the mileage and condition though.
