These are the estimated payouts for the event. The New York State Athletic Commission doesn't release actual fighter pay so the following are all estimates compiled by MMA Manifesto, basing their figures off previous pay-outs, champion contracts etc.

I doubt Eddie even remembers what the numbers mean after getting dropped after 50 seconds.

The whole thing is a bit silly to me, shouting codes at a fighter when there is 20k screaming fans around you.

The fighter should have the game plan drilled into them so it's second nature, not be waiting on prompts from the coaches (and mixed ones at that).

I think it was during Gustaffson v Rumble (I could be wrong) and Rubmle said, post-fight, that he heard Gustaffson's corner calling for something, and he countered it with a kick because he knew it was coming, so it's not as crazy as it sounds!

I would guess the reason they were all screaming is because alvarez was doing the opposite of what they game planned.

Well he got his bell rung really hard after 61 seconds into the fight. Not easy to maintain a game plan after that happens.

Joe Rogan should be ashamed of himself. The chap squeals over nobodies on fight pass.

    "OH!!"

    "HE'S Hurt!! "

His fight companion podcasts are almost un-listenable because of him creaming himself over the slightest thing.

Hardly a reaction to Conor KOing Eddie in devastating fashion.

People may say I'm nit-picking, but a color commentator is there to add to these historic moments. He sounded disinterested.

Was it him or his co-commentator , during the Holly Holm v Ronda fight that waffled on about how it is tiring being a Rock Star (ie Ronda) and the other had to point out that she was in trouble, seconds later, Ronda nearly had her head taken off.

Rogan is a clown. Utter clown. I try to listen to his podcasts . While he seems sane in his opinions on matters, he does over hype far too much."Greatest ever", "in history"... yikes.

Tate : 60 ,000 for an ex champion, whether by default or not, she is "Hawt" and a reason people even bother watching the women. Peanuts. How much did she spend on training camp, and what is it after taxes. Yikes, she would get more for a modelling shoot and less pain.

Weidman is also an ex champion and he was part of the fight of the night on the Aldo-McGregor card. Jesus, hard to call any of these guys bums as they take serious beatings for peanuts.

Considering the fact that fighters and their corner are no longer allowed to advertise their own sponsors on their gear etc, 2 grand from Reebok is peanuts, especially if you are rising up the ranks and they got alot of really cheap publicity in that time.

Sickening that Cerrone gets more than Tate even though his bout was cancelled.

This is a woman who was world champion only a few months ago, Who headlined the historic Ufc 200 card.

"Alverez getting loose, getting better in this round though.."

The money these guys are getting is, in general, shocking. When you see the costs and risks the fighters have to put up with - versus the take on the gate alone, never mind the other income (PPV/Advertising) that UFC made on that fight alone.
The UFC are in a seriously strong position when negotiating with most of the fighters and the only ones with any power to improve things for all fighters are the biggest draws - however if McGregor gets his piece of the pie he may not want to help the smaller guys!

That money is shockingly bad, do some of those fighters earn points on the buys too or is just the headline bout?

Michael Johnson 47k, Tate 60k. Really poor, shame on UFC nearly 2 million PPV buys and 18m gate and this is all they paid.

Cowboy bends over backwards for the ufc what a sucker he is accepting 88k to fight after all hes done for them, I've no sympathy for any these fighters who talk crap about McGregor going about his business while they sit and do nothing for themselves, love to know how they plan on living from age 40 onwards after fighting.

The commentary (not by Rogan though) as Alverez was getting those four head strikes was:

In fairness to Goldberg, he started that sentence before he got it and I suppose it could have been argued he was having a slightly better second round than first.

To whoever asked, it was Goldberg talking about Ronda finding it tough being a rockstar and Rogan basically exploded at him and said it was about her getting punched in the face.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

I'm not anti-Rogan but I thought he was making some weird calls throughout the night. I can't remember specific examples but remember me 3-4 times he said something and I saw the exact opposite.

No wonder Ronda went to Hollywood for a while. She should stay there. Would not come back , I assume that she gets a better deal with her being (once) the "most dominant combat fighter" ever

Seriously though, why is Tate bothering? (She retired, I know)

Weidman too, he was a good champion and his fight on the Aldo card was excellent (funny seeing middleweight championship fights playing second fiddle to the smaller weights)

They have got to be allowed to do their own endorsement deals (that they can put on their trunks and corner) Surprising for the US , how Communist and closed market they can be. Same with NBA and MLS - Addidas (and next year, Nike) exclusive kit deals

Yeah, I remember the other person (you said it was Rogan) who was NOT impressed. But still what kind of fool would lack such intelligence and misunderstand what was meant by that .

Seriously Tate ? 60 grand including Reebok and the PPV. Wasn't her fight after Edgar's ?(no qualms with him getting his slice)

What is the health insurance like for them?

Lol why do people think Rogan doesn't like Conor?
He was low key when Conor knocked down Eddie to finish him, but I think that was due to him knowing what was coming. Conor was dominating him and I thought it was a case of "This isn't even a competition, I'm not surprised."
Then thinking back to the Diaz 2 flight, he was going crazy in the 3rd round for Nate's flurry on Conor up against the fence. But the reason for that imo is that it's so unusual to see Conor on the back foot taking smacks.
Whenever I hear Rogan talk about Conor on his podcast it's a mixture of admiration and awe (ie there's never been anyone like this kid etc)

Yeah it was def Rogan cracking up at her. Goldberg talks ****e all the time. I commented on the thread that around six minutes into the strawweight title fight he announced that it was likely to be a stand up battle. Just adds nothing in my opinion.

I'm here to belatedly collect apologies for my man Bruce Buffer.

    http://i68.tinypic.com/33xk7lv.jpg
    Apologies? I don't understand.
The scorecard proves he fk'd it up.

When I heard 47-47, I was thinking it might be a draw. When the second card was the same, it confirmed it. Draw was the only option. The third score can't change that. Buffer should know that.
