snapped metal strip holding oil tank in place

Our oil tank is in a very exposed location and is held in place by 2 metal strips embedded in a concrete base. One of the metal strips has snapped due to age/rust.

Could anyone advise on what I should do?

    Some pictures would help.

In the mean time, would something like this suit?:

You can get a roll of this steel strap in most hardware stores. Roll this across the tank and screw/nail it in position.

Thanks very much for the prompt reply.

The galvanised pipe strap is exactly what we have. The builder made 4 quite large blobs of concrete on the concrete platform and inserted the two straps into the concrete so that we had 2 straps tightly holding down the oil tank when the concrete had fully set. One of the straps has now snapped.

I'll check a local builders merchants store to get a new strap and I'll ask for advice on what I should use to fix the strap to the concrete.

You could buy a cheap nylon ratchet strap, which might last a little longer.

Thanks for an interesting possibility Jack of All.

I got the metal strapping yesterday and will see if I can use that as I think that would be better longer term. If I have problems then you offer another possible alternative. Meantime some dry not too windy weather would help!
