Alarms, gates, high hedges, lots of security - signs of living a life in fear.

Dismal lack of knowledge of areas other than the home (garrison) one and perhaps trips to Grafton Street. Quite a lot of opinions on said other areas though (see other thread).

Dog walking. Joggers. Adults and children dressed appropriately for cold weather. Estate cars, often older. Local boating/sailing club. Lots of outdoor types really. Oh and of course big houses.

Yes, it does. Weedy looking cats, that cost a fortune. Their recall is terrible, they're deaf, who knows. Obviously can't be trusted.

Hairless Siamese cats wearing jumpers and whippets or salukis wearing snoods.

    - Young girls driving around in Minis that Daddy paid for!
    - As mentioned, large(ish) houses with walled gardens and have gates with an intercom.
    - Fee paying schools in the area
    - Lots of boutiques
    - Plenty of expensive cars and Yummy Mummies in Range Rovers, Merc MLs, etc.
    - And, of course, the 'soithsoide' accent, roysh.

Stop, I just nearly choked 😂😂.

There is a really posh estate not far from here. No resident's trade vans allowed to be parked out front, no toys allowed to be left outside, and washing isn't allowed on lines at certain times. I drove down for a nose once in my little 01 Polo I had at the time, it's like another world !

pictures outside such estate of the face of a thick lipped man holding up an non branded smartphone taking a portrait picture with the name of the estate above his head.

Or a poster stating some very pleasing statistics.

A landscape worker riding a mower even in the rain.

No Dublin Bus goes in - there is no Dublin Bus stop.

I've never seen that in my life. Does that actually happen?

Sure does. Seen it in Blackrock on more than one occasion.

I don't see any descriptions of proper posh people on this thread, just social-climbing **** who think their disposable income somehow makes them superior to people who live in housing estates.

The real poshos - Protestants who've lived here all their lives, but speak with English accents - don't drive around in brand new Audis and SUVs. Whatever money they have goes towards stemming leaky roofs and preventing their giant houses from falling down around them, so they make do with a rusty old Land Rover.

Pubs that charge €7+ a pint and an extortianite amount for subpar bar food.
    Educo Gyms.
    Golf courses.
Undersized and unathletic kids clearly being pushed to play rugby.
    Finance/Legal Companies.
Yummy Mummys that cannot be seen driving the kids to school or meeting the girls for coffee in a Range Rover or equivalent any smaller than an AT-AT from Star Wars.
