I'm liking it a lot, but there's definitely a sense that the quality of the presentation in some ways elevates the gameplay above what it otherwise would be. It's by no means a bad or even 'alright' game, and it has some really great ideas (the switchable characters is an inspired thematic touch) and full of lovely little details. But yeah if fundamentally the same gameplay was presented in a less confident manner it probably wouldn't be quite as noteworthy. Thankfully it is noteworthy though ;)

love Owlboy. such attention to details and presentation and it plays well with a compelling main character . I did a small video of the demo they sent me a couple of month back and I was sold : http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057454041&page=4
the full version is just more of the same and it's utterly charming

...and also, happy bday J.U :D

I was wondering why they'd dedicate a whole disc to the gameboy version :pac: apparently they're soundtracks.

Ah crisp I thought it was all the games. Don't like the original Darius at all so at that price it's a definite no from me.

I'm in the process of attempting to build a bartop/table arcade (a bit like a DIY PiCade) as part a course project.

Almost done on the laser cut full size test model for laser cutting next week.

    34h6vwp.jpg

Planning for the Final Case to be CNC cut fingers crossed!!

Nintendo UK have starting shipping the NES mini. My order should arrive in Parcel Motel by Thursday, so hopefully I’ll have it for the weekend.
Will play it for an hour then rip it apart to have a look :)

Few sites have already popped in open - basically its quad-core ARM SOC running an emulator.

Well, that's disappointing, as expected, but disappointing.

Apparently it's the Wii Virtual Console emulation running on very similar architecture to the Wii/Gamecube????

The Gamecube/Wii were PowerPC based so they either ported their emulator or snagged an open source one.

If I'm being honest, one of the NES Mini's I've inbound will be used just for the case (and maybe the controller if I can figure that out) :o

It's definitely not an open source one, Nintendo care too much about their emulation.

Apparently the emulation is much closer to the Wii Virtual Console than the terrible WiiU NES emulator although I really would like to see digital foundry take a look for a definitive answer.

According to Nintendo-age, the sound emulation is off on some of the games or maybe those nerds just have waxy ears.

Can't be as bad as that megadrive yoke. So bad I couldn't finish GnG in one credit.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

At this stage, do you ever think that maybe, just maybe, your arcade 1cc of GnG was just a lucid dream? :pac:
