Car will not start in cold weather

hi my car wont start in cold weather if i turn the key and press the gas pedal it will start but without hitting the pedal it will just keep turning it starts first turn of the key during the day its 97 polo 100000 miles on it also just cleaned throttle body few weeks ago and idles at 1200 rpm and drops down to 860 rpm…

Try another battery if you have one handy. Once it gets cold old batteries will def start giving up the ghost.
