    That's the spirit!
Accept that you'll probably lose and then anything other than a loss is a bonus. :D

Tried the oul wedding suit on there for the final time, next time it'll be on me I'll be standing shaking like a leaf.

If it helps, just remember that on the day nobody will be looking at you.

Until the speech. Don't f*ck that up.

I hope you realise it doesn't excuse you from mod duties on match day?

Got a plan for that. Everyone is getting banned on Friday night.

Cool. Awec gets married and we get a holiday. Nice...

Banks are so frigging slow. 2 months sale agreed on a house, finally got the loan offer issued to solicitor today. Signing contracts tomorrow :)

    Congrats!

I'd be checking there was somewhere to watch the match before accepting an invite to that wedding, I'm still full of the horrors of the one I was at last week

Is it the banks, or is it the solicitors leaving the money lie as long as possible to skim some interest?

Definitely the bank. With interest rates so low I don't think the solicitor would make much.

We had Elbow - One Day Like This. Seen some quirky ones too. Pick something you both love. Our church band played Metallica too :)

Thats awesome!! I'd actually enjoy that ceremony. Though if they played more than a couple of songs I probably would've ended up stage diving off the altar on to the front pews.

Our band is a 3 piece (guitar, drums and singer), so our song needs to be one that'll translate well to that setup.

At my best man's wedding he had Guns N Roses - November Rain, but he just had a DJ to play it. That sort of song would sound wrong with an acoustic 3 piece.

Think?? we had "you're just to good be true" as our first song. The band was Boogie Nights....very good but jesus they were expensive!! I wanted the Bootleg Beatles but the feckers wouldn't commit to our date even if we paid them up front, incase they got a better gig elsewhere on the same date!!

As i said about 100 times last week during the three hour long drinks reception, if I ever get married again it will be in Vegas and they will find out via facebook.

No nonsense ceremonies, just a nice party to be arranged after the fact, and **** the bedrudgers

There will be no first dance nonsense either, just a good meal with a varied menu, no ****e of a five course meal with four of the five courses with no choice.

We're having a buffet for the meal. More choice for people.

Sounds like it will be you and me getting married then cause that's my next way also!! Definitely Vegas although I'm not on fakebook so they'll find out in good time.

A buffet? Your guests will hate you.

No chance I'd be allergic to your kids :D And you'll be so broke after the divorce and maintenance, it will make you cry.

Better than being presented with a five course meal where you can even consider eating one course.

We chose it cause we were at a wedding last year where there was a buffet and we really enjoyed it. Got to eat as much or as little as you wanted.

Apparently becoming more popular according to our hotel.

After my experience last weekend, I'd agree tbh

We'd a fancy five star meal, I'd go with a three star buffet with a bit of choice anytime.

Like I said if I remarry it will be abroad with a party, I know a couple of places it would be in and it would be the normal menu we'd use and budget that all the guests would go for the most expensive option. Turned out the bride (my sister) is a veggie and they ****ed up her main so 150 plus people were kept waiting.

Fair play to you for going for the buffet.

We had some bizarre wait between the third course (sorbet) and the main last weekend which lasted twenty minutes!

I was in Vegas with OH earlier this year. Tried convincing her that we should just head down to the Blue Suede Chapel and get it over with. Apparently that would be too mean to everyone. My response of "**** 'em, I don't care" didn't help my case. I tried selling it with the fact we would then need to have a party in Ireland and another in NZ but she was having none of it.

I'm not a big fan of weddings, but the food is important. I will never talk to you again if you serve me poor food on your 'special day'. Thems the breaks, not happy with that? Should've thought about it before you went dropping that knee.

I'm also very particular about the music. So much bad music played at weddings. I ain't got time for that.

I hate weddings, full stop. I'd be eternally grateful to any friend/relative who ****ed off to Vegas or Spain or Gretna Green and told me about it afterwards.
I have a friend organising a wedding at the moment and everything they are doing seems to be to please other people. Their catchphrase of late seems to be "if it was up to us we wouldn't be doing *insert wedding cliché* at all". I have to fight the urge to shout "IT IS UP TO YOU, YOU F**KING TWATS!" at them.

I'm the opposite, don't ever remember the food.
