    hey all,

just started my second ever batch of red wine.

followed the instructions as given in the kit, however my SG is is reading .82

i put in about 1lt too much water, wasnt watching the level.

have i just ruined the batch?

    thanks
    W.

It'll still be wine at the end.

:-) True but will it be any good.

Some online reading suggests it will be very low in alcohol.

    Thanks

1.082 won't be low on ABV, don't know anything about wine but guessing it finishes a lower than 1.000

That's pretty much the starting figure for wine kits. Should be fine.
