On the bus home and bus driver turns on liveline (god help us) and this afternoon it was time for the aul wans to ring up and complain about Eir(com). Now there's a lot to complain about with Eir, but these people I feel are just being entitled. The two stories I heard before getting off were one woman had her elderly fathers line turned off and when they asked Eir to turn it back on, they said they can't unless they sign up to a direct debit, a policy which everyone uses these days and has been in place with Eir since they first rolled out EFibre. That woman of course (Mary I believe her name was) felt the best policy was to come on liveline for a moan and a bitch about Eir. The next caller wanted to upgrade her package or her fathers I can't remember but essentially was met with the same trouble, Eir need a direct debit, she said no I'm changing providers (guess what she didn't because they all wanted it) instead decided to stay with Eir and not upgrade her landline package.. essentially cutting off her nose to spite her face. And the Joe went on about Comreg and state licenses as if that's relevant considering EVERY company does DD. Electric, Gas, Bins, Broadband, Mobile, everyone. Is it me or are these people just way overly entitled and a bit daft? The latter woman especially, I mean refused to take an upgrade over DD... I can't understand it.
