A worm in the middle of a potato. I didn't eat potatoes for ages afterwards esp if they were mashed up before I got to check them

A ring in the middle of a currant cake. Happened twice, and always at this time of year....

An inter continental ballistic missile in a bag of chlpsticks. Put me off crisps for weeks.

I read ''a ring finger'' I heard of someone finding one in a bottle of ketchup. They couldn't work out why the ketchup wasn't coming out.

I found most of a cow's plastic ear tag in frozen food from Lidl.

I love that word ''Conniption'', OP

Was it just my family or at a certain time of the year the mash had concealed coins wrapped in foil? Can vaguely remember this memory but I used to hate it.

I see the disturbing weaponisation of ordinary foodstuffs proceeds apace:

While eating a bag of Lidl nuts, I bit on a small shard of shiny metal.

Was about to go back in and complain when I found a big hole in my back tooth where my filling was supposed to be...

A potato in a box of grenades. Saved it for later. MASH.

    Self mashing potato device found.

I found a big massive humongus lump of congealed speciak K flakes in my box of special K one time. It was like a rock of special K (not the drug).

Gave it to Kellogs and they gave us some stuff to say sorry. I can't remember what they gave us.

Exactly the same thing happened me with some toffee.

Found some dead maggots in a pot of pasta from Lidl. There were more dead ones in the bag. Personally haven't eaten pasta from there ever since.

The drug or the cereal. If it's the former you may have uncovered the supply chain.

There was a mold issue with Capri Sun drinks but the mold looked like worms. They come with clear plastic bottoms now.I wonder what it was in the other cases..from their website:

In some cases when people think they have found a "worm" inside a Capri Sun pouch it was actually mold. The mold takes the form of a straw, which can then be mistaken as a worm since it is long and thin. While this is not a common occurrence, it can potentially happen because the product is free of artificial preservatives.

    Right.

Now I need to add grenades in potatoes to my list of pointless fears, alongside toilet snakes.

Toilet rats are far more likely in Ireland. But I suppose that would be a somewhat rational fear, because it could actually happen.

Found an earwig in my sandwich. I only found it because I opened the sandwich to pick out the giant hunks of tomato :o

Brought it back to the shop and they gave me a big box of milk tray to say sorry.

Should have accused them of being sexist, just because you're a woman doesn't mean you're going to like Milk tray. Earwig samwidge, sexism, time to crack open the till and start counting out fifties boyo.

Not in my food as such, but years ago bought a box of eggs and as you do, opened it to check them and there was a note in black marker written under the lid

"Do not use, master carton copy"

That's gas! Like something would happen to Victor Meldrew.

Actually come to think of it he has had some similar occurances.

Oddly enough the german stick grenade was nicknamed the potato masher because of its shape

Seems a bit far to go for a pun though

Bought a sandwich once on a service station. Took a bite and chewed but something definitely didn't taste right. Had a look inside and it was riddled with mould. Cue spitting, wretching and mouth rinsing.
